Security Robot Meets Untimely Demise After Drowning On The Job
CBS ^ | July 19, 2017 6:59 AM | Nancy Coleman

It was one small step for security technology, but one giant leap in the wrong direction for robotkind.

A security robot in Washington, D.C. — lovingly named Steve — plunged down four steps into a fountain Monday.

Photos show the sad, waterlogged robot cop partially submerged in defeat. It’s unclear if any foul play was involved or if Steve simply rolled down a dark path on his own.

I guess that disqualifies them from being Lifeguards at beaches and pools.

There's nothing sadder than an unpaid security robot having to fountain dive for coins just to keep his joints greased.

Steve needs union representation...........

it didn’t drown. the word drown is the media’s attempt top anthropomorphize a machine. drowning is when water gets into your lungs.

it fell into a pool and short circuited. it did not drown

The article’s writers & editors are ridiculous.

“Photos show the sad, waterlogged robot cop partially submerged in defeat.”

Robots do not have emotions, like “happy” or “sad”.

“Steve was still getting used to the streets he was programmed to protect. He was “mapping out the grounds” to theoretically prevent this kind of accident.”

You can call a Robot Steve, or Stephanie if you want but they are a machine, without gender and not a he or a she. Referring to “Steve” as “he” instead of it is ridiculous.

Wonder if the replacement robot will have its camera operating 24/7?

That seems to have been a problem the night that the human, Seth Rich, was murdered.

Has that woman ever taken a good photograph?
Every picture I’ve seen of her, she has her mouth wide open like a ‘tard, beaver buck teeth sticking out and those crazy eyes going on.
Let’s start calling her ‘Steve’.

Everything about her is phony. Eyes, hair, life story. I can’t image the energy it must take to keep all of the lies straight.
