I tend to agree, but I know the Democrats and probably 50% of the country, would go absolutely nuts if Mueller & gang are fired. Trump’s effectiveness, and possibly his political life, is dependent on Congress passing repeal/reform of Obama Care, and, even more importantly, major corporate tax cuts. Both will help the economy, but I suspect the tax cuts even more than replacing Obama care.
Simple repeal of Obama Care is politically impossible...too many Republicans-and-Trump voters won’t stand for removal of benefits, sadly. The GOP politicians are hostage to their reelection—hence a majority will not go for simple repeal. There HAS to be a replacement...that’s the best we can hope for now.
Mueller-et al. is a long term problem, which I think can wait until after Congress takes care of those two issues. The political costs will be huge if Trump fires him (we ain’t seen nothin’ yet...) I can even anticipate literal riots in the streets.
However the long term infection of having a budget-unlimited Democrat witch hunters in the middle of the Justice Department—leaking at strategic any supposed dirt they find....is politically untennable. Besides that, Mueller’s conflict(s) of interest are very real, and very illegal....and proven by the Democrat donors he’s installed under him. His whole appointment is Comey’s corrupt action....and Sessions & others were duped.
Congress passing those two things, will insure Congress remains Republican—because if it does not—a Democrat congress will at least handcuff Trump’s agenda, and I think very likely would invent a reason to impeach him.
Getting rid of the Mueller infection must take place after Congress acts. It will also take a chance of impeachment...but with a GOP Congress, and an improving economy (say in 6 months or so) or probably really AFTER the 2018 election would be overlooked by a majority of the American people—IF real national improvement and prosperity are evident.
If Congress doesn’t get it done though....I think Trump could be a 1 termer or even impeached.
