Let’s face it: beating the summer heat isn’t always as simple as it should be. Running the AC all day really puts a hurting on that electric bill, and not everyone is lucky enough to live near the cool waters of the ocean.
Still, what this German architect and resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, did to cool off might just be a bit too extreme for some people.

There’s a company in Canada that takes old shipping containers and makes pools out of them. Quite a bit more than $5000 for one of those but really neat as well. Kudos to this guy for his project.
Since it’s an above ground, might not jack his taxes. If so, even sweeter...

That is a pretty cool pool. Is that any worse than buying one of those above ground pools from Walmart? His is much better and looks great, nothing crazy about that.

I have some I’ll give you. Most projects around my house involve digging a hole. The problem is getting rid of the dirt. (Slow but sure answer...roll out trashcan.)
A few feet from this desk is a river to swim in. No need to bring in digging equipment.
OK. If no one else will, I’ll say it: dumpster diving.
