That was a pretty bad wig on Rhaegar.
Very nice!
The only question is, where would Jon Snow fit in as a legitimate male child, but not yet born at the time the Iron Throne would have passed down at King Aerys' death? In a stable monarchy, a regent could be appointed for an unborn or underage ruler.
On the other hand, the crown could have passed to the next male in the line of succession (Viserys).
I also find it interesting to think about. If Lyanna, Ser Arthur Dayne, and Ser Gerold Hightower had all lived, then I think it very likely that Jon Snow would have been the heir instead of Viserys.
However, I don’t think Jon Snow would have lived very long if Robert Baratheon had heard about him. Jon would have been a living reminder of what Rhagar had stolen from Robert (Lyanna Stark).
Don’t you renounce all claims to everything when you go to the night watch? They said the same thing about Sam when his father and brother were toasted. Jon has been named King of the North but that wouldn’t invalidate his renunciation of everything else.
Why would they even care? Incest was common in the GOT world. What will be more interesting is what happens when the Dragon Mother finds out she is no longer first in line to claim the iron throne.
I figured Ramsey only sliced the frank, and left the beans.
Taking the beans as well was actually quite merciful (if you have no frank you’re better off without all those bean-generated hormones that make a man want to have sex), very OOC for Ramsey. ;d
It’s gotta be blue flame, ice vs. ice? Magic super ice that’s so cold it burns?
I’d love them to clarify. LOL.
I don’t think Tyrion is the Mad King’s bastard, but I think GRMM clearly wants people to think that’s a possibility.
A good rule of thumb... Blood is thicker than water, therefore heavier.
Bloodlines run DOWN not ACROSS. John is the rightful heir to the throne.
Great graphic. Thanks for taking the time to make and share it.
Yes, for the rest of you life. Jon died. His watch ended. Then, the Red Woman brought him back. After that, adding in the fact that his fellow "brothers" murdered him, Jon gave his black cloak to Ed, and said; "my watch is ended". I think, technically, he is correct, since he was dead.
The Lords of the North gave him the title of King by acclimation. I don't think Jon ever wanted to be a King; but, it was thrust upon him. He easily gave the running of Winterfell while he was gone, to Sansa.
So, he did give up everything for the Nights Watch. He died. He was revived. The Northern Lords made him King.
On an unrelated note: I was thinking about Jaime riding up to the north by himself. His reunion with Bran might be a bit interesting now that Bran is the Three Eyed Raven and can see everything in the past, because Bran can go back and see who pushed him out of the tower at Winterfell.
That might make things a bit awkward! They will need Jaime, though, because he is an excellent strategist.
Ill bet its more than you think.
Careful now. The young earth creationists will show up to argue that medieval dragons were actually dinosaurs living amongst us.
“If true, wouldn’t this make Tyrion a bastard?”
IIRC, during the very first episode when Tyrion meets Jon Snow he says “All dwarfs are bastards.”
Either way, I hear 6 longer episodes... not 10.. so who knows.. either way, I expect a lot of let down myself.... the slow plodding build up, and quick resolution will likely leave a lot to be desired I suspect.
From original post: nor Jon's claim to the Iron Throne.
That's what I meant.
