The last thing anyone wants in a restaurant is a mascot. No on ever went to or returned to a restaurant for the mascot.

Pittsburgh's Eat n' Park chain disproves the theorem. For some reason people go gaga for these Smiley Cookies.

I dunno. I used to like the Shoney’s Big Boy mascot. Easy to see that there was a good clean restaurant nearby. (when I was a kid, they were all clean....) I think it was other names than Shoney’s outside of the South, but the Big Boy told you it was basically the same place.

But this Denny’s thing? Ah - no.
