It’s hard to believe looking back as adults, on how exciting some things were, such as going to the ballgame with Dad.

I know how silly this may sound. But when I was young, we had gone only to day games. But then one day, Dad announced we were all going to go to a night game. I remember how exciting I thought that was.

I know as adults, that sounds crazy, but as a boy, I was super excited to go to a night game.

Baltimore has a beautiful ballpark in the worst part of town.
I wouldn’t go either.

That begs the question as to why, many cities have built stadiums in bad neighborhoods.

Bleacher seats were $1.25 and I could easily afford that with my paper route money.

Also remember those days in the bleachers as well. Can't remember what we paid to take the "T" from Quincy, but it wasn't much. We were all pretty bummed when the price went to $2.00 each!.

A few years back, I took my two kids and wife to the game and spent over $300 all told.

Took my niece and her two boys to a game at Fenway in 2013, when I was in town for a convention. Spent $300 for the tickets ALONE, and those were 3rd row of the bleachers, behind the Sox bullpen!

Camden Yards is safe...just don’t leave after the game.

Yet Camden Yards was influenced by old ballparks, hence every park after Camden Yards was influenced by old ballparks.

Sorry there bub, but the fact of the matter is the design of Camden Yards more specifically the interior was used for almost every baseball park since 1992 (with exception to Marlins Park). The only difference was the park’s exterior design. Some used the same Jewel Box park design (retro-classic) as Camden Yards, such as Citizens Bank Park. Others used a more modern exterior (retro-modern) of grey steel such as Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Marlin’s Park was built in 2012 and is the only park built after 1992 that didn’t use the Camden Yards design.
