Here we go again. My wife and I are multi-decade long fans of NFL and now this is the fourth week in a row that we have watched NO football. No highlights, no internet, no nothing. The NFL better get a handle on this situation. Get those players up off their knees, hands on hearts, helmets in hands, no interlocking arms stuff. Pay RESPECT to the country that made the NFL possible. Period.

Movie theaters are also having a major slump. There might be several issues combined going on here such as turning off/insulting fans, high ticket prices, economy not doing as well as being reported etc.

I know many Conservatives have been ticked off at Hollywood for a long time. Now the left has reason for disgust. The injection of left politics into sports could be a major factor for decline in NFL and at ESPN. Mrs. & I live in a big city - we went to see a movie last weekend at $18.75/ticket. We're going tonight to see another at $13.75/ticket. I think that is a lot of money for 1 seat. AFAIK the movie biz is not growing like crazy which can only mean that as prices have gone up and up over the decade they are reaching fewer and fewer people (economics 101).

For tonight's movie, I logged in to buy the tickets and reserve the seats and I kid you not not a single seat had been reserved 4 hours to showtime.

That guy lives in my neighborhood. Well his brother anyway. He also has two gadsen flags and a POW/MIA sticker on the back of his pickup. Always love seeing him out and about.

I understand that the Green Bay Packers team is owned by the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Will the taxpayers make up any losses incurred as revenue falls but expenses don’t.

I suspect many former fans echo your statement.

It’s delicious to contemplate the cognitive dissonance hitting the media types.

They cover the NFL so they must include the obvious bad news regarding player idiocy and fan boycotts and attendance falloff even as these threaten their current and future employment prospects.

By the same token, most ‘journalists’ are smug virtue signaling lefties so their gullible amplification of the police brutality fiction is only hastening their demise.

I am not sure that what you are asking for is possible.
Short of owners threatening players with suspensions or termination, I don’t see any behavior modification possible.
And even then the players’ union would get involved.

I love football and the Seahawks. I decided to be a hypocrite and watch today. Five minutes in and I decided to watch a movie instead. My enthusiasm is completely gone.

Those empty seats are the same people that don’t go to see movies anymore.

We should completely fire those spoiled AHs and have our service and first responder folks play in those stadiums for charity. Imagine Army vs Navy but more often with the other services involved.

That would fill them up. Proceeds go to Wounded Warrior Project, Backstoppers, USO, and others.

Came across an article this am written in 2012 that discussed the NFL backing gun control!!

Sounds like this switch to being a progressive voice has been brewing for awhile.

Hiring thugs and fear of concussion lawsuits?
