It’s not PC, it’s just the code between teams throwing hard objects very fast and very close to each other. Don’t show me up and I don’t show you up. And all is well.
I guess it’s true you don’t see grown men up there on the dugout steps yelling “he’s no pitcher just a belly itcher.” That would get severely old over a 162 game schedule. I was extrapolating from my childhood days. I do beg your pardon for my earlier ignorance.
That would crack up the few who could even understand the words today. Even the Puig tongue thing doesn’t seem to get anyone upset, though he’s pretty careful not to do it in face of the other team. I think the 5 game suspension they gave Gurriel next year is over the top. It could have been handled by the players and it’d be over after his next AB. They’d give him a plunk in the thigh and he’d get a base. That’s all that was necessary. Message delivered. Any suspension beyond a token one game next year is over kill.
Japanese also consider Yu a foreigner despite having lived there his entire life. I doubt he is too concerned with this latest gesture.
