These two might have faked their experience for 15 minutes of fame.

Lost in love?
Or didn’t know how to turn the beacon on?

I smelled something fishy!

The story was so bad that it felt as if it had originated in CNN’s news authoring department (sign on door: Fake News when you want it).

They packed enough food for themselves and their dogs for a year, I’ve read. They were planning on being adrift. Fame seekers even if apparent idiocy is the source? Planning on writing a book? Trump haters gone off the deep end? Nutty lesbians with more confidence than sense? All four?

The story had a lot of loose ends. The sail seemed intact.
They had no idea of where they were. Maybe they were completely incompetent, maybe there is more to it.

After 6 months lost at sea, I’d like to know how they look so “healthy”? You’d think they’d be a little emaciated. I thought BS immediately.

Reminds me of that Far Side cartoon where the rescuers from a ship look into a lifeboat to see a happy and healthy dog wagging its tail with a hat, watch and pair of glasses next to it: "Hey boy! How ya doin'?...Look at him, Dan. Poor guy's been floating out here for days but he's still just as fat and happy as ever!"

I read they were eating a lot of tuna...

My first thought was to look at a map. Not even a nautical chart, just a map. They would have realized that if they pointed the boat any direction and set the sails, chances were very high they would hit something called Land.
They could go south too, but the land is pretty icy, unless Al Gore gets his way really quickly.

I agree. That was also my first thought. I’ve seen a few photo’s of castaways when they were rescued and they look pretty gaunt and their clothes are not bright and clean. The barnacles or whatever they were on the hull of the boat seemed legit though.

Nautical neophyte Tasha knew only what Skipper Lesbo told her. Sounds everything like someone got Shanghaied.

Agree. In fact, I thought there was a reporting mistake and they were only gone six weeks.

But their boat was deemed “unsea-worthy”. If they damaged the vessel on purpose it should have been obvious.

Maybe they are just world class procrastinators:
We will set a sail, tomorrow, sometime.
I was going to look at a compass, but it is too dark now, maybe tomorrow.
I suppose I should look at a map or chart, but I haven’t finished the novel I am reading for the 11th time.
