Having worked in IT for 35 years, I’m amazed that the internet is as stable as it is. They must do a lot of checking and testing on the backbones.
Apparently, this was some sort of DNS push.

About Comcast-— why oh why have they discontinued their Weatherscan channel 101? I cannot find a reason or a way to contact them directly. I am devastated.

Yeah, things were going as slow as an oxen-pulled cart in a third-world country earlier today.
I actually did a viral scan of everything on my computer to make sure there wasn’t a virus slowing things down.
I was also considering that it could have been a DOS attack or Comcast was giving preferential treatment to higher-paying customers than me.
A family member emailed me late lastnight and said they were having issues sending me email. Kept getting sent back saying undeliverables which was very odd.
Not sure if it was related to this outage or just a fluke.
I had no internet issues in my neck of the woods.
