I have never read any of the expanded Star Wars Universe books, but I see that they are no longer considered Canon.

If I was a Star Wars book fan or a Star Wars book author, I would be mad that everything was overturned because of one crappy Abrams movie.

He didn’t like the first two “prequels” all that much, some really wooden dialogue and acting and wat too much CGI (and to much Jar Jar), but thought they were necessary to set up the story and to lay the ground for the last one. IIRC he liked Revenge of the Sith out of those three the best, although was sorry that Darth Maul didn’t come back – thought it was a mistake to kill off such a great villain so soon in that trilogy. But he loved seeing Yoda battle and kick some a like a real Jedi. He liked The Force Awakens, but like me, liked the overall story arch and the characters in Rogue One a bit more.

He’s a big Star Wars fan and that’s probably my fault since, when he was a wee little kid, I took him to see Return of the Jedi when it came out.

I Heard that too. But this was Lucas and he didn’t do anything with it for whatever reason. 1-2-3 stunk. 3 being the best of those.

BTW Lucas and Spielberg must have been de-balled by leftist Hollywood. After their great early works they went ultra-left. Han shot first and FBI men had shotguns and not walkie talkie. Whatever made them change that is still a mystery to me.
