I’d like to see Tony Beets, his family and his dredges down there. They might need a thousand armed mercs for protection but the show would be great.

If there’s a way to screw it up, Todd Hoffman will find it!................

I’d prefer to see the Ethiopes benefit from their own gold.

Yeah. Todd’s a guy with a capital “L” permanently engraved in his forehead.

Todd Hoffman is on his way.

Do starving Ethiopians prefer salt and pepper on their gold?

How much would it cost to buy Ethiopia?
Population 102.4 million
per capita income $660.
So $66 billion would cover a years income for the entire country. I say we offer them $300 billion, and they all have to move somewhere else.

That should pay for a lot of infrastructure and industrialization to lift the Ethiopian people out of poverty. That, and unicorn ranching.

So true, and then when you add in his Dad it just becomes a comedy of errors. I think Todd’s biggest problem is he loses focus so fast.

That would be ideal. Export them some Capitalism and First World tech to keep them from ruining their ecosystem... In exchange for stock options of course...

We're off to Ethiopia boys. We've got to get there before the hoopleheads or Mr. Hearst.

Sounds like a great opportunity for terrorists, slavers, poachers, smugglers, Clintons and the like.

I hope the Ethiopians prosper from this - the entire country, not just some well-connected people and foreigners.

Exactly — the legendary “gold of Ophir” in the Bibe. The horn of Africa is the best of the several suggested locations of “Ophir”, if for no other reason than 1) its proximity to the Red Sea and Israel’s port of Eilat, and 2) the linguistic proximity of “Ophir” to “Afar”, the people who still inhabit the horn region.
