Some are honest to goodness “Oath Keepers” , I have known a few that even though they like the thought of a disarmed populace, they would prefer the “turn-in” method and prosecute when caught in possession, But that was in a different state. Out here in fly over country, I do not know any that would be willing to go door-to-door for confiscation just for the purpose of national disarmament.

I do recall Clintoon doing surveys for new recruits and re-enlistment troops during his reign of terror asking if they would be willing to confiscate and an overwhelming majority said no. In recent years, foreign troops have done training on our soil and indicated that they “under the guise of the UN Peacekeeping” WOULD do it and were here to train on doing just that.

...it is silly to think we have the time, money, or man power to get even 1% of the guns. We cant even get them off of known felon gang members.

Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!

To those who referenced THE LAW in their answer no doubt a law would be passed to give cover to gun confiscation. And curiously no one as yet has referenced the CONSTITUTION as the fundamental basis of legitimacy. Do not all LEO’s take an oath to the CONSTITUTION and not some politically motivated rejection of the Second Amendment? But perhaps the CONSTITUTION is what they meant by “the law” and I’m all wet.

I work closely with Sheriff’s offices. Some would welcome the resulting fight, but most would simply dismiss such a law outright.

Which LE Department do you work for?

I’ve never come across one that reflects your statement.

I work for a rural Sheriff’s Office in SC. We have over 100 Officers, each of us every 4 years swear an oath to defend the Constitutions of both the USA and State of SC. Based on that, ( I have taken the oath 7 times, and meant it each 1) I would never disarm my fellow citizens and doubt very many of my fellow deputies would. I would not assist any Feds who tried and depending on the circumstances may even feel lead to resist them. I absolutely would go to war against any foreign operators who attempted such action. Hope this answers your question. In SC i think this would far and away be the way the largest number of us feel. I’ll check back for any follow up questions.

in the recent documentary, mot the drama, a member who came out when the fire started said that people inside spread gasoline down the hallways. However i still blame the ATF and FBI for being cowboys (my apology to cowboys)

So...

You’ve never been LE, but you felt the need to weigh in your uninformed opinion.

Thanks for sharing.

I realize gov’t employees consider productive Americans so dumb and backward to be beneath contempt. We productive Americans are so dull that we couldn’t possible fathom the incredible complexities of government employement. Because gov’t employees are just so special.

LOL -

Here in Alabama it would not be law enforcement refusing, but the entire state government.

The state would declare such a national law null and void, and go to court against it on the Constitutionality given the 2nd Amendment. In the meantime, they would pass a law forbidding armed confiscation of any kind.

In fact, let me check, but I think we passed such a state law a few years ago...

This state is rated the most conservative in the USA, and I don’t think that will change much over the next several decades. And usually, with the exception of Doug Jones who beat a damaged and embattled Roy Moore by depressing the conservative desire to vote, there aren’t enough blacks and white liberals to elect a state-wide democrat.

Keep on opining on things you know absolutely nothing about.

Yes, the military is beneath your contempt.
