FBI’s Andrew McCabe is fired a little more than 24 hours before he could retire

Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, a little more than 24 hours before McCabe was set to retire.

Sessions announced the decision in a statement just before 10 p.m., noting that both the Justice Department Inspector General and the FBI office that handles discipline had found “that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions.”

He said based on those findings and the recommendation of the department’s senior career official, “I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately.”

The move will likely cost McCabe a significant portion of his retirement benefits, though it is possible he could bring a legal challenge. McCabe has been fighting vigorously to keep his job, and on Thursday, he spent nearly four hours inside the Justice Department pleading his case.

Well, Stormy Daniels will be back on the front page, because Trump’s lawyer filed papers today demanding $20 million from her for breaching her NDA 20 times.

Yep. See: Drudge. McCabe in tiny type at some link. The whore gets the headline, complete with an image of dark clouds over the White House.

I have been a Sessions supporter but I think that the timing of alot of this is more than coincidental. All of a sudden there have been a flood of headlines concerning how Sessions has been tricked into recusing himself, he was about to be fired, he quoted the wrong laws...not that I have a problem with it. If this is what it took to help Sessions make the decision then so be it.

Sessions has been very careful. He waited until the OPR submitted the recommendation to fire McCabe. I’m sure that Mueller would love to charge Sessions with lying to the FBI. Reckon Mueller will depose the OPR? If Mueller does then will a 2nd special counsel depose Mueller for Obstruction of Justice. This would be fun if it weren’t for the consequences to our Republic.

“It’s a damn shame he can’t be rendered penniless.”

Like General Flynn who he helped drive into bankruptcy, he may end up there, thanks to legal bills.

"This would be fun if it weren’t for the consequences to our Republic."

Worse are the consequences if not done anything about it.

McCabe seems unhinged, and I suspect he is livid over being fired. Look for him to set something in motion in order to exact revenge. He is going to clap back and it probably won’t be very long. This apparent rage may be what made Sessions reluctant to actually do the deed until his hand was forced by the President.

Can’t the Democrats find a federal judge to overrule sessions on this one? You think I’m kidding...

I don't think you're kidding for one second.

It may take time, but he'll eventually get everything.

He will file a lawsuit against the Government, against Sessions, and against Trump. He'll claim denial of due process, or that they violated some detail of the some federal employee protection provision in the tens of thousands of pages of laws and regulations that govern the dismissal of federal employees. Eventually, a judge or a jury will find in his favor, and he'll get his whole pension, including whatever he missed out on because he was receiving less than his whole pension during the time leading up to the day his appeal was granted, plus probably some very nice monetary settlement on top of it, plus his lawyers will get paid by the government too.

I'm sure it will happen. This is nothing, just headline-bait. Clickbait.

He'll probably lose his pension which comes to about 20 percent of his annual salary. His Democrat crony friends will set him up with something that will more than make up for what he's lost.

I will not lose any sleep over this.

Sessions and Trump are immune from civil liability. Any suit would have to be against the FBI as an employer. Discovery for McCabe would be a bitch.

This could get interesting especially if it can be proven that someone provided a financial benefit to her to break her NDA. That person or person could also be found liable.
