Sweden has become the first country in the world to offer compensation to transgender people who were forced to undergo sterilization in order to be allowed to change their sex.
While often hailed as a forward-thinking society promoting equality for all, up until 2013 Swedes had to accept sterilization before getting official recognition for sex changes.
But hundreds of people who were sterilized between 1972 and 2013 will now be entitled to seek damages after the Swedish parliament approved the government’s proposal on Wednesday.
Equality campaigners at RFSL, Sweden’s largest organization for gay and transgender rights, welcomed the “historic decision” which they said followed “a long struggle”. …

These people (transsexuals) should be suing the doctors that mutilated them not the government.
The doctors deceived them by telling them that they could change their sex through surgery. That is a bald-faced lie.
Their chromosomes determined at conception what their sex would be. Surgery and artificial hormone therapy will only alter their external appearance. Their sex will remain the one that they were born with.
If they consented to the surgery the fault is with them for their sterilization.

As you this just confuses me. If you are a dude and want to become a women it is off with you privates, then hormone therapy and some serious reconstructive surgery.
If a women it is off with your breasts and other private parts reconstruction, hormone therapy and surgical reconstruction which is very major. What the hell does this have to do with becoming a father or mother. This is just strange. By their choice of becoming the opposite sex they have given up their biologic roles of motherhood or fatherhood. It is just strange.
Regardless of surgery and hormones you are either xx or xy. It is just that damn simple.
It seems to me that an xx that becomes an xy demands to be an xx or an xy that becomes an xx demands to be an xy for the purpose of childbearing. This is insanity.
It should also be noted that those that undergo surgical transgender change have an extreme rate of suicide and history of violent physical abuse to their partners. I really do not want these individuals bringing innocent children into the world to be raised in their non functional houses.
It is part of the liberal trend of saying sex is what you think it is.
That’s how you get the stories of mentally ill women identifying as men having a baby and getting called “a man gives birth”. Or the insane liberals saying that not all people who menstruate or have an abortion are women. They’re trying to disassociate biology from identity.
By saying it was wrong to require a woman to have her uterus removed to legally become a man, they’re reinforcing the “thoughts determine reality” meme. How dare you require a man to remove his penis to be a woman!
And yet, we’re told that we should emulate Sweden as one of the “happiest countries.”
They must poll politicians alone for those “happiest country” rankings. Kinda like how the USSR would have done it.

What’s what I was thinking... for a completed cosmetic surgery, you’d remove everything that was the opposite of what you wanted - remove the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and mold a penis - or remove the penis and testicles, and mold a vagina. Either way, once done, you’re no longer able to procreate. I see nothing wrong with their posture that *IF* the government is going to pay for it, you have to be 100% sterile, and abide by a no-kids clause. If you’re so mentally damaged you need to do that to your body, frankly, it’s child abuse to allow you to have kids, in any capacity.
Regardless, you’re not changing your sex - it’s either XX or XY, and that’s all there can be of that.
