Idiots. This kind of thing usually backfires on a company. I hope they go bankrupt and I have one of their cooler cups that work well but I just sent an email to everyone letting them know what kind of company this is and to use informed judgment before buying one of their products.
Oh no. Went back to the WSJ story and it’s subscription only now. It let me see the whole article a few minutes ago. Sorry.
No prob, thanks for the info!
The timing of this really reeks...
Goodbye Yeti....
My young son in law owns his own small business. He has been firmly in the Trump camp since the president announced his candidacy, and is quite vocal in his support when among family and friends.
He had Trump campaign signs in his front yard, and, when not on the job, wore his red MAGA cap.
However, he had/has the common sense to separate his politics from his business, knowing the potential is there to take a huge hit financially from those who don't see things the way he does.
In other words, he is a far more sensible businessman then many of these "corporate giants."
Yes it does!
And they are based in Austin . . . why? A business with an outdoorsman customer base setting up shop in a liberal college town. Same principle as firearms manufacturers being based in Massachusetts or CT. I have no sympathy. Know your customer, don’t do stupid things that piss off your base.
What I’ve never understood about a $600 cooler is can you leave it at the beach or a campsite while you go out and do your thing without the thought that someone might steal it?
With out gun owners support do they really think their profits will increase?
Nobody can justify a $600 ice chest....
Unless you plan to be buried in one. Cheaper than a casket anyway.
I agree, and (with apologies for taking the thread a bit sideways) I wonder if (suddenly anti-2A) Dick's Sporting Goods has noticed a biz slowdown, yet.
We have choices when we seek to by camping coolers and sporting goods.
Bye, bye Yeti.
these work a lot better- last for hours- especially if carried in a small cooler) and are a heck of a lot cheaper than overpriced yeti coolies
[[Had been thinking of getting a good cooler for my fishing boat.]]
See my previous post- fantastic can and bottle coolers- keeps drinks cold for hours- even colder than fridge sodas
Walmart already sells an almost identical product for less $.
The owners of Rtic are conservative rednecks.
Great products that perform as well or better than Yeti at 1/3 the price for drinkware. Coolers are about 1/2 the price.
Glad to learn of a company does not want my business.
Ha! The venture capitalists who have privately invested in Yeti are gonna be pissed!
Are they? Not if they’ve received something in exchange for doing this.
