I'm a former Girl Scout — and I think the Boy Scouts' plan to allow female members is a pseudo-progressive
The Boy Scouts' decision to expand its membership to include girls and change its name to Scouts BSA has been applauded by progressive and feminist organizations. However, women would be better served by supporting the Girl Scouts — an organization that focuses its full energy on helping girls. The Boy Scouts' faux-progressive move isn't a feminist win, but a cheap ploy to boost membership.
The Boy Scouts of America has waded into a culture war with its decision to allow girls to become members and change its name to Scouts BSA.
The decision was cheered by many progressives, including the National Organization for Women. Meanwhile, many on the right bemoaned the decision as "tragic self-destruction," to quote blogger Matt Walsh.
I'm going to have to side with the critics.
The creation of Scouts BSA is bad for girls — but not for the reasons the right thinks it is. And, it certainly isn't a feminist win.
Why Girl Scouts matters
In full disclosure, I am a former Girl Scout.
Over my decade as a scout, I did much more than sell cookies, participating in events from learning to knit to orienteering in the freezing rain. While troops adjust activities based on members' interests, one of GSUSA's aims is to push girls to develop skills in areas where women are typically underrepresented. For example, last year GSUSA launched a STEM pipeline program, with plans to roll out 18 Cybersecurity and additional Space Science badges.
I grew up at West Point, and my love for the Girl Scouts is irrevocably tied to the female cadets and other girls and women I met through my troop.

The Girl Scouts have been losing memberships for years and it's run by a bunch of feminists lesbian socialists. No wonder girls would rather be boy scouts.
I heard today that the Boy Scouts are dropping the Boy so as to include girls in their troops. How long do you bet it will be before a non-trans’d girl sues because she wanted to be a BOY Scout?

Wait until the lawsuits against the “Scouts” organization begin for the lifetime costs of raising a child due to a pregnancy happening during inadequate supervision of mixed groups of teenagers camping together!

Very stupid decision.
Probably a case of maintaining some historical connection/reference to the original organization. Might even be some legal reason/justification to retain “BSA” in the organization’s title.
As for the decision itself, this is just the end of game move in a series of recent BSA leadership decisions. After all, when you have (after a lot of internal turbulence and external pressure) decided to admit homosexuals and transgender “boys” into the organization’s membership and leader positions, how can you continue to exclude “real” (or to use the politically correct term, CIS) girls and women?
Logically speaking, unless you are very careful, when you creep out onto a slippery slope, you may be obliged to slide all the way to the bottom; long term consequences be damned.
I think we should merge the NBA and WNBA and call it - Basketball NBA
I am no former boy scout and I really do not have a dog in this fight to be honest what the hell the issue here, boys go to the boy scouts, girls to the girl scouts, is that hard for some people to accept?
This is just the last gasp of a dying organization; in my area they’ve been losing members and selling campgrounds for years. Like fluent English and blinkers/turn indicators, these are just lingering symbols of the WASP culture that made this country great. The replacement Americans don’t entrust their children to strangers, and the remaining Americans barely have children.
Now that we know predator adults look for positions in these groups, it is hard to justify joining them without some extreme safeguards.
Its an anti-masculinity plot by the Marxists, to continue the destruction of America . Nothing more…nothing less.

This concept has been “mainstreamed” into every facet of our society now; the author doesn’t need to worry it will change here. The few remaining “boy scouts” will be doing the girls’ chores while the girls “play man”.
I do not know if is or not, all I know is that American society is becoming even more divided over stupid crap that should not have been brought up in the first place, at this point civil war is not an if but a when, personally I am almost ready to say lets get the party started.

I was a GS for years and enjoyed the program and had good experiences.
I no longer buy GS cookies or anything else because of the rabid feminnista platform it has become.
