Are you a guilty, rich white liberal with a kush government job getting paid to shuffle around papers in some useless bureau for $90,000 a year and harbors internalized racism? Well now you can absolve your white guilt with the new Reparations Happy Hour. That’s right, the aforementioned guilty white liberals can show up to a bar in Portland, Oregon and give away free money to black folks so they can booze it up. I’m sure these white liberals feel a lot better about themselves with that burden of whiteness off their shoulders now.

I’d gladly buy a drink but first he’d have to prove I, my parents, my grandparents or my great grandparents owned him. I can’t see how I’m the least bit responsible for anything that happened 150 years ago.
How about they give me some reparations for not getting a job with the state? In the 80s, I was hired and ready to start but the evening before, a very upset supervisor called and said he was sorry but the Texas Parks and Wildlife HQ in Austin said they couldn’t hire a white person because they didn’t have any blacks at that park. Duh, no blacks had ever applied. Didn’t matter. The job was still being advertised years later because.... no blacks applied.
They won’t stop doing it, if they know what’s good for them. That would be a step backward, and it doesn’t sit well with “the community “
Doesn't break out the whites from the others. The photo only shows two actually collecting the $10 so could be 38 virtue signaling pajama boys and only two showing up to collect. At any rate, doesn't seem like a huge event.
This is so demeaning and patronizing. I would never walk into a bar that did anything like this. As a black person, I'd be mortified to be seen there, perceived as being there to collect a free $10 bill. As a white person, I'd be ashamed to be thought a part of it.
Will be interesting to see if this bar stays in business.

They should be encouraged to do this, and the rest of us can pay lower taxes.
