“I’m leaning Vic, he’s not a polished politician and seems to be softening on Trump.”

No one who failed to support the president early in his campaign is fit to hold public office.

Further, if a candidate doesn’t drive the leftards into a slavering, convulsing, howling, puking, chewing-their-own-lips-off, full-blown “Exorcist” seizure, that candidate is not morally fit for office.

Now, aside from you and me, who do we have?

“Colorado has gone so far left, I’m not sure it can be saved.”

I think clamping down on voter fraud would save us.

Betcha every alkie panhandling downtown votes 30 times.

Yes, and now that they are sending ballots for both primaries out, with the idea that you can only use one of them, what do you want to bet a bunch of twits send both in just to cause some chaos?

Even though I changed my registration to Independent a few years ago, prior to Trump throwing his hat in the ring, I still get to vote in the Republican primary.

Scott Tipton is not opposed. He seems pretty good.

The conversation here has me looking at Stapleton for gov.

Don’t know about Williams for SecState.

Don’t know about the Treasurer race. Everett, Lawrence, or Watson?

George Brauchler for Attorney General?

CU Regent at Large: Ken Montera?

CU Regent: Glen H. Gallegos?

State Senator District 7: Ray Scott or Dan Thurlow?

State Rep. District 54: Matt Soper?

County Sheriff: Matt Lewis or Bob Dalley?

Some of these candidates are unopposed in the primary. Do they have to get a certain number of votes to appear on the general election ballot?

I also got a demonrat ballot. Maybe I should use that one instead, voting for all the worst candidates. Problem with that is that I don’t know which dims are worse than others.

The voters here recently enacted a tax increase that was supposed to be earmarked for law enforcement. I am reliably informed that, instead of hiring LEOs or buying gear, the DA is using the money to redecorate his office.

I'm being convinced.

Don’t know about the Treasurer race. Everett, Lawrence, or Watson?

I need to study that.

George Brauchler for Attorney General?

I like George at this point.

I like Lopez, but I don't think he'd attract the big donors that Stapleton would. Pollis is incredibly wealthy so we'll need someone who can raise some funds.

I heard Mitchell in a radio interview (Ross Kaminski's, I believe) and he got enraged over a simple question. Reminded me too much like McCain's temperament.

I think Stapleton is the one who can actually win. Politics is the art off the possible.

I agree with you that part of the reason Colorado has gone so far left is because of voter fraud. They have made it ridiculously easy to commit voter fraud here. The problem is that even when we know voter fraud is taking place there isn't a lot we can do to stop it. The republican party here is also mostly out of touch establishment which doesn't make it any easier for us.

Well, what can be done? Can we establish a tax-free 401 whatever to fund poll watchers? Would we have to go vigilante and stop the fraud forcibly?

Seems a little early to give up.

I'm replying late since I haven't been logged in for awhile. I agree with you that we can't give up on looking for more successful ways to combat voter fraud here in Colorado, along with other states, but I don't know what the answers are. I think the Colorado republican party deserves a lot of the blame for what's happened here. The state party is full of weak out of touch never-Trump establishment types that will only put up a real fight against conservatives. The average republican voter here overwhelmingly supports Trump, and he drew huge crowds here in the 2016 campaign, but that isn't reflected by much of the state party leadership.

That's something I think we need to focus on, but I agree Colorado isn't a lost cause yet. We have to fight the left tooth and nail here to make sure we don't end up like California, but no one should ever give up on changing things regardless of where they live. Things can change for better or worse anywhere over time, and we have to try different strategies both long term and short term to get things changed for the better.
