This eight-year-old is already way more talented than we could ever hope to be.
Yoyoka Soma has been drumming since the age of 2, plays in her family band, and absolutely nails John Bonham's drumming on the Led Zeppelin classic "Good Times, Bad Times." Her performance was originally uploaded as a submission for the Hit Like a Girl drumming contest; we're not sure if she won or not, but we're assuming she did because obviously!
Yoyoka nails every transition, every fill, and she looks like she's just having an absolute blast. If only we could have half the skill as her!

For the drummers out there...is this really her nailing it, or are we hearing Bonham's original drums and watching her hit?
What a cutie and a great drummer. There’s hope for her generation.
Well regardless she is definitely having a bang up time.
That was my question. Can you get a sound track sans drums? Not sure how you could do that without the original studio recordings, but technology is making exponential breakthroughs.
Oh, I never noticed the “cow bell” before in the song. Original needed more.
This is what Robert Plant says about it...
The symbols are her shots for sure. You can tell when she stops her crash.
Its all her and she will bet even better when those little arms get stronger and she can go back down faster on the high rebounds caused by bashing the hell out of those drums.
She is awesome
>>>Her movements were absolutely in synch with what you hear, so I think she was really playing it.<<<
Yep.
Zeppelin Beatles Van Halen Eagles, etc. Sigh. All music today sucks.
Our parents said the same thing.................
More cowbell!!!
In fact, there are small bits where she is just a micro beat behind...which shows she IS nailing.
Ive known some drummers. Used to be in the biz. Can confidently say she simply kicks @zz. A true prodigy.
Awesome vid. Thanks for posting.
Just WOW.
There are lots of vids on YouTube of kids killing it on drums. One thing about them I like is seeing the look of real pleasure when they nail a tricky part. You can see this girl break into a grin at several points through the song. I like seeing someone still unable to contain their love of the music they can make.
Yeah. But they were wrong. :>)
I remember my step father saying, “How can you listen to that crap? All it is is noise and screaming!”, referring to Led Zeppelin that was on my stereo........
He was into Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, etc........
