A Red Sox fan on his way home from Yankee Stadium died Wednesday when he tried to climb on top of a Metro-North train and was electrocuted by overhead wires, creating a chaotic situation where riders were trapped for more than two hours, MTA officials and riders said.
The Metro-North train from Yankee Stadium to New Haven, Conn., left the ball field just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday. As the train was running from Larchmont to Mamaroneck about half an hour later, a pair of brothers tried to climb from inside a car onto the roof.
Train personnel got one brother down safely, but 24-year-old Michael Vigeant of Hudson, NH, touched a catenary wire and was electrocuted, said MTA officials.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Looks like Boston submitted their entry for the 2018 Darwin Awards.

By the behavior of the drunken snowflakes on the train after the event, a few of them should have been hauled up top to experience the same fate. Jeez!

“MTA officials claimed that the train was only stopped for 30 to 40 minutes, but riders say it was more than two hours.”
Really? Someone died and they’re arguing over how long the delay was? Yankees can be so insensitive.......northerners, not the team.

Darwin Award Champion, for sure.

Maybe I missed it but the article mentions that many of the stranded passengers had been drinking but not the brothers. Their mental acuity at the time is apparently explained by the fact that they are/were Red Sox fans.

The irony is that what he did, served as the origin of the name “Dodgers”.

The irony is that what he did, served as the origin of the name Dodgers. Not quite. The Brooklyn Dodgers were men who had to jump out of the way of the trolley cars. They 'dodged' them to avoid getting hit.

They won’t face the Astros until the ALCS. The Red Sox will have to play either Oakland or NY again first. The Astros will have to play Cleveland unless they falter and end up as the wild card. Then you might be right.
