I listen to BBC4 at midnight and this comes on, and I don’t know how they abbreviate things. I think they are talking about particular bouys or routes, but some have weird names like “automatic” or “artificial” tacked on to the place name.Is the pressure in millibars? How do you decode it? Does BBC have a map for the places talked about in the shipping forecast?

For news of the Middle East and on terrorism there is Rantburg. It offers some general news. Its editorializing is often juvenile, but its coverage is quite good.

Agree OANN and Fox Business are all that is left worth watching. I was so disappointed Cris Wallace was co-hosting with Shannon Bream...she is a real shining star and like Peter Ducey, stays with the facts. Wallace’s personal opinion ruined a good broadcast. Wallace is approaching Shep and Juan territory quickly.
Fox has gone left in general but the Sunday lineup I÷ unwatchable. All lefties. My TV is off except for DIY and HGTV.

Fox tries to provide balance in their news coverage, which only makes sense to attract the largest audience. Some will claim they are biased to the left, but that is subjective and depends on the personality.
In opinion programming, Fox News is hard right, with a few exceptions like Tucker Carlson who play it down the middle. They don’t air any hard left opinion programs similar to what is heard on MSNBC.
So overall, FNC is way more to the right than left and that formula has earned the biggest audience share (thus income) for many years.
For me, political Cuck and Soyboy Wallace is always good for a laugh.
Fox Business is MUCH BETTER, Varney, Trish Regan, Lou Dobbs, Charles Paine, Maria Bateroma all VERY CONSERVATIVE and YUGE Trump supporters!!! FNC is just not bearable any longer!!!

The music is spooky and cool. It must be something well known. Violins doing an up and down tempo di valse melody with a sort of descant of flute arpeggios above them, which I guess are summoning breaking waves, whitecaps, foam, whatever. Very cool intro/outro music.

So, in essence, I am listening in real time, to a LW AM radio attached to an antenna in the Netherlands. I get their midnight shipping forecast at about 1900 Tampa time, or 2000 during the summer.
Enjoy the good parts of the BBC, but am saddened by their doctrinaire socialist Kool-Aid drinking news staff.
