If my grandson was sure to be taught proper fundamentals I would absolutely want him to play football if he wanted to play.
Played the game of rugby for years. It is so much fun and you must tackle with form or you’re out of the game. Ijust don’t like the hedonistic culture surrounding a lot of rugby teams.
Pele was a great goal scorer. Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are better at scoring goals than Pele was.
Ronaldinho was a midfielder. He is the most talented player ever.

Yes. My dad did. I did, mine did.
BTW, my first HS football helmet (1957 jayvees) was a reconditioned leather one, the kind with a sort of egg-shaped profile. That leather was hard as any plastic. And it had a single bar face guard.
And if the writer objects because he feels that paralysis refers to the condition as opposed to the accident that caused it, then in that case I’d say there is no single word for the injury. You’d have to say “paralyzing injury” or “spinal cord injury”.
Your opinion. Did you ever see Pele play? I did.
It was back before many “improvements” in the sport. Rather like trying to compare Babe Ruth with Mickey Mantle. Times change, rules change, coaching patterns change, equipment changes, and there is always an outstanding person who is named the “greatest.” Well it all depends on many factors and attempts to level the field. IMO the Greatest Athlete to ever live was Jim Thorpe. But that’s just my opinion.
I saw Pele play. 1966 World Cup when my dad was stationed in England with the U.S. Navy. He was past his prime and he was one of the 10 greatest players ever. Ronaldinho was the greatest midfielder ever.
Roberto Carlos was the greatest left back in the history of the game. Made the best free kick from distance
A few guys on the ‘98 French WC Team were not so bad either.
They were very good.
Was there for the win in ‘98 and happy to see them win this year. After all the hell Didier went through, it was wonderful to see him bring the team to the top. Deschamps was not only a great player, he has proven himself as a coach.
Agreed. France was clearly the best team at this year’s World Cup. Luka Modric was the deserving award winner of the Golden Ball. Without him, Croatia would have been eliminated in pool play.
