We had a big issue last year....seems one of the guests gets headache from red wine. She made such a damn issue of it....going on and on for an hour.
Of course the solution is....don't drink it.
We did a little searching after she left...yes...there's a RWS....Red Wine Syndrome. I prefer RWN....Red Wine Nuts.
P.S. We know who is in need of special consideration and we do what we can.
I know several people with the problem, I was with 2 of them when they first reacted, they don’t whine or wine, they drink hard liquor or beer.
My daughter is vegetarian and wont eat anything with animal products in it. She also doesnt like onions. My solution is I always put a portion of everything off to the side before I add all the extras. Stuffing before I add onions and eggs. Chile beans before we add the meat, etc. she has plenty to choose from that way. Its not that hard.
And oh yeah, I always have red and white wine. Lol
I hear ya—some folks’ often arbitrary (changing on their whims!) diet stuff can be pretty hard to hear and should usually be kept to themselves in such a setting.
And some our menu Nazis, wanting to make sure whatever they can’t eat isn’t on the menu at all!
