That is what happens with conversations (which is what a FR thread is). Often times a short statement gets someone's interest and they may be inclined to elaborate on it to share opinions or bring others into the conversation.

On occasion a person may even mistype an quote or click on an unintended comment just as I did when I meant to respond to #12 by al_c to #8. Please accept my apology for offending you.
