I can’t help thinking there’s more to this than Matthews’ recent comments. Either Matthews sprung this on them without warning and walked off the show, or something big happened behind the scenes a few minutes before air time, and he was told to go say goodbye and leave immediately. Steve Kornacki, who appeared on camera after Matthews’ comments to finish the show, seemed like he was caught completely off guard (there are several videos already posted on You Tube showing the opening of the show.) I get the impression Kornacki was somewhere in the building having a cup of coffee when someone grabbed him and told him he had to get on the air right away.
Oh the humanity- the venom spewing little wanker doubtless will have to sell the house in Sconset to pay the lawyers. Tip O’Neil is weeping into his gin.
