Holy crap. Was outside working yesterday and didn’t get on the puter last night. Look at john Hopkin’s coronavirus site this morning and it’s jumped from less then 200 up to 339 for the US.
Testing has begun. NY, WA and Cali are the three hotspots of course. Hot spots for leftists and coronavirus.
Just got back from a minor re-supply run here in Texas. Here’s my notes:
1) I didn’t realize that Walmart ran Black Saturday sales, but it sure looked that way (didn’t go in).
2) Home Depot was well-stocked with bleach, and very fresh (important because it gets weak in several months). The bottle that I got (for water purification) was bottled less than a week ago.
3) Home Depot did have toilet paper, but only for the 1%.
4) Sams Club and Charmin Toilet Paper impressed me. I had bought toilet paper at Sams last weekend and they still had it today. But what was impressive was that price didn’t go up, although the size of the packages went down (oh well, can’t win them all!).
5) Also at Sams, their non-perishable foods were almost wiped out. Usually they’re to the ceiling, now only intermittently spaced on the first level - quite a sight.
6) Sams still had a bit of pain relievers left too.
Anyway, I agree with others, things will start getting very interesting this week, as we see the downside of our lovefest with Globalism.

Survey of Nations Frontline Registered Nurses Shows Hospitals Unprepared For COVID-19. “Responses from more than 6,500 nurses in 48 states, including the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands, show that high percentages of hospitals do not have plans, isolation procedures, and policies in place for COVID-19; that communication to staff by employers is poor or nonexistent; that hospitals are lacking sufficient stocks of personal protective equipment (PPE) or are not making current stocks available to staff; and have not provided training and practice to staff on how to properly use PPE.”
Even still, high early-season vaccination rates and a relatively effective annual vaccine appeared to help suppress illnesses. In total, the CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died. Thats fairly on par with a typical season, and well below the CDCs 2017-2018 estimates of 48.8 million illnesses, 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths.
........................
So if you do the math the normal flu-virus we get here in the US yields about a 2% death rate. 1.65% by my math for the most recent period.
I think we will find that the corona virus is about half that as far as the death rate goes.Current stats will probably support that.
So why is everyone so exercised that we are in the midst of collapsing the economy!!
Since this is a political forum much of the time let's delve into the possible political aspects of covid 19 and it's ramifications.
We just went through several years of “get Trump any way possible” by the dems and the drivebys. They will do anything to get rid of Trump, slow him down or make him look bad.
The false impeachment of our President was a perfect example. Why not make up stuff get a fisa warrant on basically nothing but lies and then use that as a basis to impeach the president.?
They did. He was impeached and it was a miserable failure. His numbers only went higher.
The dems have learned that impeachment was a horrible mistake. Now they need to get it out of the news cycle.Problem is it has to be replaced by something.Something as powerful or even more so if possible. They never give up. Anything that can possibly be used against our President to keep him from winning even if it means collapsing the world economy and scaring the population to death will work for their needs.
How about Covid 19? Would that work? My guess is they think it will. Are they all out using it against Trump? Not so far that we can tell. But is that on the way? You betcha.
So do we fall right into their hands by promoting the dire consequences of covid 19.Especially, when we have first hand evidence that it's likely not as deadly as the common flu!!? Most likely.
The more we push the driveby,DNC,stop everyone from coming in mantra, stop this get together, the better it is for the dems worse for us. Shortages in this and that, eliminating anything that might create more potential to catch a virus that is not as deadly as the common flu but hyped up to scare the crap out of everything is what they want.
The more we do this are we basically carrying the driveby/dnc line for them? Are we doing their job of collapsing the Trump economy which he basically is running on as his key accomplishment.?Looks like it.
Also do they have him in a hold position boxed in. a position where if he says what “we can and should say” that “its all bullsh_t” and we should just go about our business like we do in normal flu seasons everything will work out? If he dares say that the drivebys will come down on/crucify him like a ton of bricks. But, if we say it we can kill them off,is that the case,I think it is.
Also i think its what we should be doing.
This is probably old news on here, but Sirius XM radio has a 24/7 coronavirus channel, number 121, which works even if you are not a current subscriber.
Went to a Walmart in central Alabama this morning, a town of about 15,000.
I have hand sanitizer, but decided to check the availability. Got to that isle and there were five people standing before a big empty space in the shelves, looking to each side and above and below to make sure there were no stray bottles, There were none and one lady starting talking about how you can make you own.
But it was not unusually busy otherwise. The parking lot was about 1/3 full. Another area of almost empty shelves was general, antiseptic, cleaning products, and it was a large area, about half one side of the aisle of about 25 or 30 feet. Stock throughout the food section lower than normal, but few other areas that were empty, or almost empty.
I was hospitalized for pancreatitis this week at Providence Regional Hospital in Everett, Washington.
This is the hospital the first Covid-19 patient in the U.S. was treated in. This hospital is one of the few hospitals specially equipped with a lot of high tech stuff for this exact situation, which is one of the reasons he survived. I learned a bit about how it was done from the staff. Only a very small number of people can expect to get treatment like that.
While I was hospitalized I talked with a LOT of doctors and nurses about this virus, ALL of whom were very willing/eager to talk about it, and are VERY concerned.
Here’s a summary of what I learned:
1. The staff described the hospital as in “crisis mode”.
2. They are putting double the normal of nurses/staff on suspected patients, and working hard to protect the staff and other patients. Any staff member who shows symptoms is sent home to self isolate (not sure for how long, but possibly two weeks).
3. They are paying extra for overtime and bonuses in order to attract more staff, but cannot get enough people no matter how hard they try. One of my nurses was flown in from Florida.
4. They are working very hard to keep people like me far away from people they suspect have the virus. No one was allowed on my floor if they had any of the symptoms of Covid-19. However, they were NOT screening visitors, so who knows.
5. They do NOT know how many of their patients have Covid-19. The CDC is partly responsible for this through their earlier failure to provide test kits that work, and their current failure to provide nearly enough test kits to cover the current situation.
6. The state of Washington also shares some of the blame. The state issued rules that greatly restricted who could officially be considered a possible case. Almost no one met the state’s criteria, so even obviously suspicious cases could not be listed as a possible case. The hospital took things into their own hands and treated these people as if they DO have it. (Based on a few news reports, the state may have finally relented a bit on this, but I’m not sure.)
7. The staff told me, unofficially of course, that they were 100% sure they would run out of supplies.
8. I was sent home a day earlier than they would normally have sent someone like me home. The reason is that I have a severe lung condition that makes me a very high risk patient if I happen to catch this virus. The doctors emphasized multiple times that I needed to avoid hospitals and doctor’s offices as much as possible, and should practice social distancing.
9. I was VERY impressed with every person I met at the hospital. They are under a lot of stress and in my opinion, doing a GREAT JOB.
Many thanks to the entire staff at Providence Regional Hospital in Everett, Washington state.

I am currently in London. Numerous people are wearing masks, but with two or three exceptions, everyone wearing a mask has been Oriental as they still say here.
Handwashing and hand sanitizers are everywhere. Even a major store on Carnaby Street has a big window display encouraging people to come in and wash their hands. I joke that the first thing I packed in my luggage was hand sanitizer, but thats not really too much of an exaggeration.
Coronavirus/COVID-19 has arrived at the FR HQ area:
