Is the Chj Coms created the virus in a lab and know every single bit of its DNA, wouldn’t it be relatively easy to create a vaccine?
Thank you for Corona Virus Daily Thread #34! (Sorry for the late response.)
Looks like my niece has it. She’s in her mid 20s and has no underlying health conditions. She had body aches, nausea, fever, took tylenol and fever went away. Went outside to visit with the dogs and had shortness of breathe. Went to hospital and they did tests for Strep and Flu, both were negative so the doc said likely covid. Will know in a few days(?) Her boyfriend is being tested too because he had/has chest pains and is a big guy in his 30s.
They’re in Florida and Mickey Mouse finally let DeSantis enact stay at home order yesterday. She’d been working and delivers med related stuff so probably essential but also went boating a couple of days ago and on the boat trip were friends with little kids.
Something my sister and I discussed yesterday.
Maybe illnesses would be less likely to spread if cancellation / postponing policies for airlines and cruises were more flexible. I don’t know how that could be worked out without the companies being left in a lurch and losing money.
If you’ve paid $4,000 for a cruise and get sick three says before sailing ... you’re going to cruise. The other option is to lose $4,000. Good travel insurance would cover this, but many (most?) people don’t buy that.
Ditto for air fares, which usually are non-refundable. You CAN pay a higher price and lose only a portion of the fare if you need to reschedule, but most don’t do that.
Maybe raise the basic costs of cruises and air fares which would roll in an insurance-type flexibility. Whatever it takes to encourage ill people to stay home until they’re well ...

Not sure if this has been mentioned but if you have double ply toilet tissue save the cores then you can separate the plys and get twice the double ply length.
I’ve also read some people were hanging up their paper towels, if not completely disintegrated, for reuse.
Have some more, but not quite sure were there yet.
Drastic times call for drastic measures.
Curious if anyone here has quit their job yet?
My wife and I are both classified as essential workers. I work for a food distribution company that services supermarkets and independent grocers. She is a school teacher working in admin. They are still working.
We are constantly hearing from may sources that EVERYBODY should “STAY AT HOME” without any qualifications mentioned. Sometimes it’s mentioned three times in a row for emphasis.
Really has my wife wigged out to the point where she is wanting us to either quit work or try to take a leave of absence. Any suggestions?
