Houston (Harris County) is starting a 1000 dollar fine for not wearing a mask in public. There is an exception for exercise and eating so I guess I will always be walking or carrying a granola bar. All this is happening at the same time as the Republican counties are relaxing restrictions.
Flubros are the voice of reason but as the restrictions hit closer to home my mind started thinking about the panic/fear porn that grips the Fearbros. The panic porn in their nightmares involves seeing families having fun in public without a mask. My panic porn involves the following: 1. masks in public for years to come 2. Mandatory antibody testing to return to work 3. Elimination of sports for years to come 4. Increased poverty 5. Democrats in office introduce wealth taxes and massively higher income taxes
There is more on that list above but most of it is too graphic to discuss. One vivid image I have relates to women who rat on their neighbors if they forget their mask. When this is all over will they be treated like the French women who consorted with the Germans during WWII - they had their heads shaved and were marched through town and humiliated.
Now back to being rational and normal. We will survive this collective irrationality and learn from our mistakes.

This panic has turned into a political battle between conservatives and leftist America haters using fear as a weapon. We are seeing which politicians abuse power. Remember them and vote them out of office.
You really hate federalism don’t you. The almighty monster on the Potomac must be your Mecca. The president is allowed to have an opinion but he properly deferred to the state.

At least we have brains to analyze and are not robotic zombies of the government. Fearpers are government drones who have abdicated their freedoms. And have no brains.
Actually, it is a battle between freedom lovers and advocates of government control over our lives. FR has been so disappointing to me during this. People I thought were conservatives don’t give a flip about our Constitution, “just keep us safe!”

I notice that many of my neighbors that I see on social media treat this like a big, virtual slumber party. It’s all fun and games, make jokes about jammies, work from home, drinking, etc.
One day, soon, the restrictions will be relaxed. There will be no more attention paid to those “sacrificing” at home. The government dollars will dry up. And that job they used to have? It won’t be there.
They will be alone, jobless, broke, and no one will care. There won’t be celebrity fund raisers for them, there won’t be politicians telling them how brave they are everyday.
And I can’t bring myself to feel sorry for them.

The Wuhan flu does seem to have turned out to be pretty much like any other flu from the past that we never shut the country down over. Unless I am missing something it doesn’t seem like any of the dire doom and gloom predictions of over 1 million dead made by our CDC “experts” are panning out even with the obvious padding of the numbers we are engaged in. I guess you are glad the gubmint totally destroyed our economy over it? I think it was a very stupid thing to do.

There is a thread on here somewhere about the Houston Police Officers Union determining that the judge’s order is unconstitutional. They say they won’t enforce it.
