So if Im not to bright for trusting the President.
What exactly are you?
I'm a guy who says that you should take PT seriously, but not always literally. I trust that he has my best interests at heart.
For example: a few days ago PT said he would decide when things would open, it was his decision, he had the power.
Our resident constitutional scholars, politicians and governors (and the media) immediately had a s#!t fit about how PT was insane, he didn't know who had what power, it was up to the states, etc.
A couple days later, PT said, "Yep, you're right." So there's no doubt in anybody's mind who's responsible for the timing...and PT is in the clear politically.
It's like the philosopher Scott Baio said before PT was elected..."He's from Queens. So am I. We mess with people. It's what we do."
When dealing with people, the closest route isn't a straight line. When he saw the 'experts' said 2-2.2 million people dead, and he was told we needed to shut things down, he said the only thing he could say..."Yes."
+/- 60,000? Not so much. Problem is, we're here. Getting out isn't as simple as not being here in the first place. So he'll say what he has to say to get where he wants to go, and no one should take it literally.
I'm bright enough to know that. You?
Im retired.
My wife is an essential worker.
I have daughters and other family members in the Hot Zone in metro Detroit. Some are working some are not.
Im not blind to the burden or hardship.
I was however surprised that when the President declared a National Emergency, not many complaints from the right.
Perhaps we were all stunned by fast developing events.
Hope the best for you. Stay well.
Peace.
I can agree with most.
Not sure what the final number will be, mainly because Im not sure when the mess will be subdued.
I dont think were far off from beliefs.
Perhaps just the route to get there.
Peace.
impimp, let us celebrate this day:
We learn covid19 is killed by sunshine in less than 4 minutes. Proven by DHS science and medicine R&D (April 23 press conference).
And for those interested, bacteria is killed by sunshine in about 15 minutes.
well, the country was shut and there are 50,000+ deaths in 1.5 months. The average flu dead in a year is about 35K with the max at 69K. That’s over a year with no restrictions.
imagine if there weren’t restrictions?
Except that 50,000 number is heavily padded and everybody knows it. Birx actually said in one of the briefings that unlike other countries, anybody who dies with corona virus in the US is counted as dying of it, which isn’t true in real life. The count is so screwed up because of that decision that I do not believe we’ll ever know the real number. I suspect the real number is likely closer to 20,000 but that is just a guess.
Flu season is generally October to March with the peak months being December to March, not the entire year. The Corona virus is not flu but the way it spreads is similar and I suspect that it will likely die down in the next month or so because of the same reasons the flu generally dies down this time of year. It may or may not be back next flu season. I guess we’ll see but I don’t think we should shut the entire country down again if it does come back
