I don't know how much of a Bible scholar he is, but his quote points to a pandemic in the future (not necessarily COVID-19).
The Plague will be something with the infectivity of chickenpox and the case fatality of rabies. Ebola on steroids comes to mind.

Theres no indication that it will be limited to just one particular disease. Pestilence can be a whole host of various things.
A lot of things have to happen before the Horsemen ride. For one thing, the Two Witnesses will walk the earth. They aren’t going to be missed. Oh no.
The events of chapters 4&5 of Revelation take place in a heavenly courtroom. Courtrooms have to do with justice being meted out to the guilty.
The seven sealed scroll in the right hand of God is written within and without, denoting the very large caseload to be dealt with.
The four horsemen are the first four of the seals, they denote judgment...as also the last three.
It is my understanding that Matt. 24 is the key to interpreting the seven seals. The first four: the antichrist goes forth, with war, famine, and pestilence in his wake. Followed by the great tribulation, the sntichrist ruling an endtime one world government (seal five in Revelation), being closed out by the day of the Lord, the fullness of God’s wrathful judgment (seal six), then Armageddon and the second coming (seal seven).
If we follow Jesus in Matt. 24, then it is the antichrist we are to expect first, pandemic (pestilence in seal four) the last thing following in his wake. The antichrist being the most conspicuous feature of the endtime.
Unless you think Trump is the antichrist (for many reasons, I do not) then seal one hasn’t been opened yet. Which means this pandemic is but a harbinger of things to come.
