East Asians are guilty of cultural appropriation. The term Asia originally just meant an area in western Asia Minor (found as Assuwa in Hittite records before 1200 B.C.). The Romans had a province called Asia in that area.

See Acts 2.9-10: "Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia" are all in modern-day Turkey.

So the whiners need to find another label for themselves.
