No it didn’t. The fumble did. Leaving receivers wide open to walk into the end zone did. Not making defensive adjustments at half time did.
I noticed the concave hump too
Man she’s ballsy to ride that lethal fall height platform
Those contributed to situation, but they were not determinative. KC needed a first down to be able to run out the clock, and CINCH a victory. That call gave it to them.
She was secured by a belt harness. All the dancers were. They tried to keep the cable discretely out of camera shot but it could be seen many times throughout the performance.
Nobody was going to take the chance that a pregnant Rihanna might become light-headed, pass out, and fall to hear death during the Super Bowl Halftime show. What a disastrous spectacle that would’ve been.
Still would have kicked the field goal.
Um.... yea. So, not “cinched”... just 99%.
Thanks for the correction.
Oh good grief... I just finally watched the recording I made yesterday.. There was NO “hold”. At worst, there was “hand contact”... but, they were AT the Line of Scrimmage. “Hand Contact” is LEGAL there. In no way was the timing of the play disrupted. Mahomes just threw the ball away.. and, THEN the flag comes out.
That was, 100%, a MANUFACTURED penalty... design to make SURE the Chiefs won the SB. No way they were going to leave it to chance, when they had the ability to determine the outcome.
This “sport” is FUBAR
Thank you. Couldn't believe it my own self ;o)~
With a precision pick like that, you should join our FReeper Pick ‘Em game next season. 😊
Congratulations!
Yes, the Eagles players in the post game interviews were very classy and basically said the same thing.
I’d give Mahomes some extra credit for that run he made up the middle too. He was doing some serious hurtin’ on that one.
Kinda offset by the Eagles fumble/”no fumble on review” in the 1st half. ;-)
Well, just some.
Have her try this (even if it is a bit “Old Testament”):

(Spoiler alert / warning: Don’t be fooled by the “quiet” 1st 4 minutes. If you don’t like Rock, stay away..)
Yeah, he was hurting out there. That run was crucial.
How does a CORRECT in the 1st half offset a FAKE call that ends the game?
Sorry.. not even close. It was 100% a BOGUS flag that wasn’t even thrown until it was certain that Mahomes had given up on making a first down.
No way to dress this up. It was a zebra decision, in favor of the Chiefs.
A playoffs only table for the benefit of those who didn't play the whole season, including an apology to those new players whose picks I missed before game time in this thread.
Thanks.
I like my percentage. If I followed that on the week I missed I would have had first place as I have the best percentage on the games I picked. LOL
I know you did great, only the one game winners (and players) had better average.
LOL I’m still in there.. somehow?
Didn’t see the 2nd half “bad call” in question (not a big NFL fan anymore...didn’t watch the halftime or 2nd half)...my only point was that the 1st half bogus “no fumble” call (Zebra in replay booth) cost KC at least a FG and maybe a TD...(was down around the Eagles 30 or 40 y/l if I remember correctly). No judgement on the 2nd half flag I didn’t see.
The 1st half fumble ruling (Not a ‘call’, per se). was a very close one. But, it adhered to current NFL rules. Before a player can “fumble”, they must first complete a full “catch”.
By current rules, that means: Catching the ball, and then “making a football move”. This second part generally means, taking 2 steps... or, moving the ball intentionally forward.
This player clearly CAUGHT the ball, but he didn’t have time to do anything else... (ie; complete a football move) before it was knocked away from him.
I’m not a huge fan of this rule, but that IS the rule. The retired NFL ref, Mike Perriera, who was on the broadcast, immediately called it... a “Non-catch”. I knew it, on first review. It was the CORRECT ruling... based on current NFL rules. It was NOT a flag thrown, or not thrown.
