“Add the costs of maintaining a V6 gas engine. “
Due to the reduced usage the gas engine would last longer than in a regular ICE vehicle.
” How is this any kind of advantage over a ICE powered truck, except for the torque?””
you can charge at home. FPL has a $33 per month plan.
You have a 7 kw, 92 kwhr source to power your jobsite, campsite or even your home during a power outage.
“Was reading about a Jeep th other day, less than 30 mile range on the battery, then you burn gas. Idiotic.”
But you get more torque and burn less gas! On days you travel less than 30 miles you burn no gas at all.
Well, that could be a plus if none of the other stuff is an issue.
> reduced usage the gas engine would last longer
Of course. How much longer? What if the engine is only started every few months due to urban cowboy commuter usage?
Engines sorta rot just due to passage of time, and even rot faster in some ways when not used. So there’s an optimum mix of running and sitting. You know the numbers on that?
I’ll hand it to you, you never give up.
> 7 kilowatts [ from a V6 227 kilowatt car engine]
You do know that a triple-fuel 7 kilowatt portable generator costs less than $1000 and can run on natural gas? Wouldn’t your gasoline-only 7 kilowatts be pretty expensive, all in?
> The engine doesn’t run at all when drawing 7 kw for external use!
Except after around 12 hours.

No. You can load up on an EV plan for $33 per month.

My neighbor has two classic cars that are only started a few times a year. My gas generator and high pressure sprayer are only started every few months. No problem.
“Except after around 12 hours.”
I have no idea what you are referencing.
