It could have hit an EV and that would have wiped out the whole parking lot.

I can see the insurance agents face now hearing that story.

Must be a shortage of bolts out there, doors, wheels...Either that our our maintenance crews are DEI hires.

Could be both! Spending money on DEI hires, with nothing left to buy parts.

Looks like some of the Biden’s cheap labor force landed a job at the air port.

There is a large weight and handling difference between a ‘tire’ and a ‘wheel’. Ask anyone that’s ever been stuck at night trying to change a wheel because of a flat on the freeway.

Just don’t drive under any Boeing/United planes.

Several possibilities...

Just off the top...

Counterfeit parts

Hard landing earlier

Poor qc in replacing a wheel

Other potential maint issues... training, failure to follow SOP, personnel "issues" (drugs, abilities, attitude, availability of proper tools, eg torque wrenches etc.)

Pressure to complete jobs in too short of a time frame.

I'll reserve opinion and judgement until all of the facts are in.

HA! A fireman told me they burn for about 3 days and are very difficult to put out.

I thought it was a cracked pylon....................

Yes, damaged pylon mounts because American (also Continental and United) had a short-cut engine change maintenance procedure that caused damage to the pylon mount, resulting in metal fatigue that led to the engine falling off.

I’ve heard that. And it’s a nasty, toxic burn.

I read somewhere that sales are really dropping. They can say goodbye to their idiotic mandates on having a certain percentage of EVs by a certain year.

And the United Auto Workers are ticked off that the batteries are made in China. What a cluster....

“ Why didn’t they just bury it right there?...................”

And give up the fun of blowing it up with dynamite? What kind of silly question is that? Besides, if they had just buried it, we would have never witnessed one of the most epic events ever recorded.
