I have not heard of ab insect infestation induced famine in the Jeffersonian era.

Total hyperbole, yes cicadas are annoying, but they just want to make whoopee, and then they burrow back into the ground.

I've been through the cicada thing many times. It's just nature. It's been happening for tens of thousands of years. My dogs love to eat them.

I’ve gotta look up that cicada recipe I’ve heard so much about.

Cicadas with Nutella on top. Yum!

From article:

"Cicadas choose to burst aboveground when the soil temperature hits a certain point – usually around 64F (17C) – and global heating, caused by the burning of fossil fuels, is potentially scrambling this natural process. “This could mess with their phenology. If they come out earlier than usual, that can be problematic for them,” said Dana."

OK. Everyone! please use your air conditioners outdoors this year!

We have Circadas every Summer in Arizona. In fact it does not seem like Summer until you start hearing them.

The last time Cleveland, Ohio, saw a total eclipse of the sun, Thomas Jefferson was President.

Coincidence?
