Way to go UF, my alma mater. And thank you Ron DeSantis for taking on the wokeists in the Florida state-university system.

It’s my Alma Mater as well, late 70s when I was there, it’s nice to see them making the right moves when dealing with these Hamas idiots.
UF has the largest Jewish student Undergrad population in the country, if these protests were allowed like other universities, it could have gotten completely out of hand very quickly, if the actions of Sasse and DeSantis were not taken.

He’s afraid to say that the insurrectionists are wrong about Isreal and favor people who are making the world a worse place.

“Higher education has for years faced a slow-burning crisis of public trust,” he wrote ... To cherish the First Amendment rights of speech and assembly, we draw a hard line at unlawful action,” he said. “Speech isn’t violence. Silence isn’t violence. Violence is violence. Just as we have an obligation to protect speech, we have an obligation to keep our students safe. Throwing fists, storming buildings, vandalizing property, spitting on cops and hijacking a university aren’t speech.” I love it when those in charge speak in clear terms and don't try to show off with fancy words, especially woke words.

Whatever you may think of Ben Sasse, he is doing the right thing here. For that, he is to be applauded.

As a globalist-communist playing the role of a “republican,” Sasse is served very well by injecting himself into a conflict he cares nothing about.

It is commendable that hyper-RINO Ben Sasse condemns campus terrorists who support Hamas. Where were he and other college leaders when conservative speakers and attendees are assaulted by communist terrorists on campuses from Maine to California? Two years ago, thugs disrupted a speech by a conservative opposed to transgender ideology at the University of North Texas. To my knowledge, no disciplinary action was taken against the disruptive students in that case or hundreds of others.

It’s amazing the responses you are getting; you praise the President of your Alma Mater which also happens to be my Alma Mater as well and so far, the responses are filled with vitriol, some people can’t even take the slightest win for our side without crapping all over it.

I am not familiar with the congressional record of Ben Sasse, but he seems to be doing the right things at UF. No DEI positions any more, no tolerance for antisemitic protests. I have to say those were great moves.

He was a RINO in the Senate, at this point I could care less about that, I’m interested in what he’s doing to/for my Alma Mater.
We aren’t going to wake up tomorrow and have the country turned around, it’s a series of small wins that will change the country, something the liberals have become experts on.

Sasse is president of the University of Florida - not the head of a school in Maine or California or Texas.
Sasse became UF president Feb 6, 2023. I hope that answers your question about “two years ago.”
I think what you would really like to do is to criticize Sasse’s boss - America's Governor Ronald Magnus DeSantis.
