That's quite a list. Let me check my cool quotient compared to the list.... mmmmm... OK, I've got my quotient figured out.

I have *none* of these albums!

I guess I've got no reason to live any more...

Maybe they picked Dusty Springfield because she was a dyke, and that's now considered cool.

Then Ann Murray must be really cool.

Burt Reynolds used to think so.

No Dark Side of the Moon, no Doors, no Clapton? What else is missing?

No kidding. What an incredibly $hitty list.

Garage sale fodder.

Nope, this crap wouldn't even sell at a garage sale. This is the kind of garbage you box up and donate to the local Salvation Army. Then you pray like crazy that they don't look into the box, because even they would refuse them as garbage.

How do they define "coolest?"

The Strokes? How can an album that was just recently released be on this list?

I see Rolling stone is still staffed by tossers and posers.

One of their problems is that they're mixing genres. Can you include Merle Haggard on a list with Madonna or Michael Jackson with Velvet Underground? I think they tried to come off as "edgy" and "in the know" but ended up leaving a lot of people scratching their heads.

ahh Blue Cheer, I remember them, still have that album. Great record.. I seem to recall that the urban legend of that time was, that they were so loud that the drummer became deaf and he had to play by the vibrations of the music. Hah !... How about Jethro Tull 2nd lp (forgot the name) or the 3rd lp "Benefit". I agree with your other choices.

You ain't the only one, buddy!

And most of the crap being discussed here is just as bad. Oh, well, there's no accounting for taste (or the lack thereof).

Maybe it's us. Maybe we're not cool.

Looking at these lists I'm not sure what their or anybody's definition of "cool" is. The Who, the Pretties cool? What's hot then? Dusty Springfield was definitely the queen of cool. Temptations were cool. Al Green. John Hammond. Traffic, probably. Where is Delbert McClinton or Chris Isaak or Dwight Yoakam? Ann Peebles - super cool! J.J. Cale (who I saw a week ago) super cool. His first album Naturally would be on my list. Naturally! But I don't make lists, hate lists, have no use for lists or halls of fame.
