We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

A couple from the northeastern United States is working with American fertility expert Dr. Panos Zavos to have the world's first cloned baby.

Hundreds of people gathered in New York to discuss plans for what to do with the WTC site. Plans are to be narrowed to three next month, and the final one chosen in December.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

AND A GOOD A.M. TO 'ALL OF THE BEST PEOPLE FOUND ANYWHERE
AROUND' OUT IN THIS VAST FREEPER LAND, USA FROM THE WONDERFUL MS GULF COAST, USA!!!!

We got a good rain this A.M. and it sure cooled things down, you don't know what miserable is until you walk outside and it 98 degrees, and with the guld moister, its stiffling, breath taking, and you sweat on top of that like mad.

In Afgan they are talking bout the citizens being killed by USA bombs and sure its bad but look what they were living with the taliban, they shot citizens by the hundred each month befor breafast just cause they needed something to start their day.

FOX NEWS, sure wish monday would hurry and get here, their weekend A.M. show is lacking, bad lacking.

Ugh, put too much salt in my GRITS, it taste terrible, that's a no-no.

I want ot encourage you when you go to church today, ask your pastor to pray for this nation, we are in serious trouble with it being destroyed within. These 'out in left field' do gooders want to take everything which is decent away from us, life, freedoms, our freedom of prayer, of worship, of anything that is about God. The next thing we will be seeing is all of us over 65 will have to report to the 'zap' station for the death shot so we can cut down on expenses, that is for all except the politicians. They would love to see lamp shades made out of our skin. Don't laugh, it has been talked about in certain circles.

Well, off to daughters for cup # 3 and then, get ready for church. Prayers to keep you free from illness and injuries and of course, for ones who have special needs. Prayers for OUR President W, they will hold up the penalty bill the wall streeters if they think it will hurt him and, prayer always for the elderly, ask us and we will surely tell you,,,,on anything. Have a good day and a safe one.

Good morning!

If you read the forecast for my AO last week, then you will know our forecast for this week.

Are you having trouble accessing the FR archives? I asked the question: How long has the ATRW/USA v i42 thread been in existence? I wasn't able to pull up a post earlier than Oct. '99. (I know for a fact that one of my first posts on USA v i42 was in Feb. '99).

Signed, Just Curious.

Steamy here as well in the midwest. storms expected later this evening,(some could be severe) as a cold front starts passing through...

Chair... We'll try and push it your way.

Morning Molly! I was able to drop off some food for the friend who's husband died on Thursday. She was gone, with her sisters, as they were at the funeral home. Talked quite at length with her father. Funeral is tomorrow.

Morning Gulf. I now think about you when I pour a cup of coffee. (Your legend grows...)

Kathryn's birthday is today, so we're off later to a town called Kohler, where we will pick out Kathryn's present. (A doll store that has the most amazing dolls... My wife and I had seen the store a few months back, and thought that would be a wonderful present for Kathryn... the doll, not the store! *Grins*)

Hopefully it doesn't get too steamy.

Brother Art, and family are also in from Tulsa. We spent most of Saturday evening at mom's, after the 5:15 Mass. It was good to see them all again!

I think the thread started when with impeachment hearings and Towanda and a few other names we don't see anymore were chatting on the thread. Molly or Miss Marple may be able to give more info. USA v UOX42 evolved from there. All I know is it was my saving grace from the hearings on.... what a wonderful group of people visit here!

Good morning, everyone. Wishing you all a most blessed Sunday. Lovely prayers, Molly, in which I join you.

Kehoe, I've seen statements from one of the Robinsons that the full archives will again be available sometime in the future, after all the changes have been made to the forum, but that for now we can only go back so far.
:(
And Citizen, I've also read that we can no longer do marquees and some of the other fancy html under the current format. I don't believe that they plan to bring it back, either.
:(

Hi Mike! I was gone when you first posted your question, and then, catching up, meant to answer you Friday.

The ancestor of this thread began during the House Judiciary Hearings, Fall, 98.

That thread continued during the Senate Hearings, but I believe the exact title, USA vs..., with the all-important countdown, began as soon as the Senate failed to convict the scoundrel.(Feb. 99)

I was just a lurker then...Towanda, Yellow Rose were involved in that beginning, then Jane took it over, then me...

Hope this is the info you want...

Molly, I think you probably got the genesis and date correct. I think that my first post was in Feb '99 and not in Dec. '98 like I thought.

Got to get ready for Mass.

You are so welcome. Yes, the 17 mile drive is a loop drive with scenic areas marked, where you can park and get out and take pictures. BTW, one of the towns I mentioned yesterday, Pacific Grove, has many beautiful, restored Victorian homes. If you take the coastal route from Montery through Pacific Grove toward Carmel and the 17 mile drive entrance, you'll see them, as well as more gorgeous coastline.

Hello CS and everyone else. I saw a post recently that you do stories about Civil War and things like that. That is cool. My favorite story is about The Angel of Marye`s Heights. Everyone should know that story. I stumbled upon the tale one day when we just happened to stop in Fredericksburg, Va. Anyhow, if this is really common knowledge around this place, I assure you it is not up here in the People`s Republic...

You going to Kohler, the sink and toilet capital of the US? This is the place where those fine fixtures are made?? Or maybe its somewhere else...at least you'll always have cheese ;-)

Pick her out a deluxe, bidet inspired bird bath, with a faux marble Corian basin ;-)

Hi, Radix! The person who was posting the Civil War diaries is Citizen Soldier. She teaches high school and got interested in the Civil War (she is originally from the south but lives in New Jersey).

The interesting thing about your link, besides the story itself, is the written language of the general to the editor of the paper. Although the words are still in use, the tone and the complexity of the sentences demonstrates a writer most at home with the written word. I doubt that even an English teacher today would write in that manner, because we are shaped by the language of television and dumbed-down newspapers. I have noticed that even textbooks for elementary shools today are not as difficult as the ones from my childhood.

Thanks for the link!

Good day, Radix ... and ALL!

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of growing up and becoming another Clara Barton. HAR!

Each Saturday, the Washington Times publishes an entire section about the Civil War!!! They focus on battles ... various Generals ...they publish maps and pictures. Very interesting ... if this is new to you, check it out!!

Well, I am a little more than slightly annoyed ... I did not watch any of the gaping-mouths today, relying on C-Span radio to rerun them back to back ... as they normally do. But not today. *sigh*

Sundays are my day for weeding, so I listen and assign names to the weeds as I unceremoniously yank them out of my beds ... there's a rather large pile of daschle's and gephardts, mcAuliffe's and lotts at the back of my property ... waiting to be taken to the dump ... where they belong, of course ...*grins*

Glad to hear it. The actual me is suffering quite another fate......I tend to wilt in this weather.

Other than that I am fine. I seem to have a little more energy since starting treatment; my poor husband doesn't seem to know what to make of it; projects left long undone are getting done; walks are being taken; I've even cooked a few times, I mean really cooked, not just throwing stuff together and calling it "dinner".;^)

The fatigue is not entirely gone but that, I guess, will take time. I'm definitely sleeping better.

Illstillbe, I have a question. Do you think a peony bush that a too-helpful husband CUT DOWN will appear next year? (He thought it was a weed. Sigh.) It has been cut off at ground level, nary a leaf left.

Good day, I am having problems. I look at a profile of someone who posts, then I see where they have been posting, then I look there at someone else`s post and then I look at their profile then I see where they have posted then I look there then I look the profiles of someone else who has posted there and then I forgot to answer the post that came to me and I can`t find my way out of the endless loop. I think that it might be part of some conspiracy to keep me from writing 5 star reviews on Amazon for all the conservative books that I can find. On the other hand, I could be dreaming....

"No. I am not interested in the cleaning solution you are showing me."
"Well, yes. I do clean and am quite content with the products I have used for years."
"I am making every effort to be polite ... I can apply the same effort in the reverse if you do not trust me when I tell you I am not interested..."

flabs my gasts, as jtill would say ....

nary a leaf left ...

BWAK! I do not think this is good, Miss Marple. Is this a herbaceous peony?! By this I mean ... are the stems green and supple ... not woody?! If so ... it may survive .. as these peonies are normally cut to the ground in early Fall ... but I am not optimistic ... and there really is nothing you can do .. and do not even think to fertilize it ...

Still you mention .. nary a leaf ... so there is hope ... mulch heavily ... and keep your fingers crossed.
