Texas trivia:

"Big Tex", the 50'+ tall statue that greets visitors at the entrance to the Texas State Fair each October, reportedly wears the 3rd largest pair of pants in the US -- Size 276.

The 1st and 2nd largest pants are, of course, worn by Jerry Nadler and Ted Kennedy, respectively.

I, being the scholar and the gentleman that I am, WILL NOT take your bait and torment xsex about her roisterous behaivor in the ice rink by making the ENTIRE traveling team.

(Indigent look.)

Xsex is the sole and best master baiter in the class, and I think that she won that title free and clear.

Heads and shoulder (inserted) above the rest.

(Rightous voice...)

I always give credit when credit is dew (unless the money is damp), but will also be willing to lend a hand anytime you need an assist in baiting the waiting masses.

That way you won't double harrumph the camle. (Unless he wants to go riding.)

(See? I can be nice too.)

Channel Nbr 5 is more usually misspelt "Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwh" by proper and dignified Houstonians.

Rika, ion the other hand, just says, "Smells like money."

Then they are lucky. ALL the channels in Seattle are properly spelt "Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwh," including Channel No 5!

A Texas milestone:

1] The Texas House of Representatives today (01/14/03) swore in its first Republican Speaker of the House since 1870.

2] Likewise, Republicans hold the majority in BOTH the Texas House and Senate for the first time since 1870.

3] The number of Democrats holding a state-wide elected office in Texas remains at ZERO (as has been the case since 1998).

Sea? Told she didn't like goin' down too deep on a first date.

'Course, she does go down all the time in those narrow canyons and twisting passageways in the shallow wet areas near sunny beaches.

Dear Teacher and Teacher's Pet/Class Tattletale:

Wednesday (1/15), I must appear at the courthouse for jury duty. As I will be armed with the latest copies of National Review, The Weekly Standard, and the NRA magazine - all of which I will be reading conspicuously - it is probable that I will be discharged (or escorted out) by noon. Jury duty pays roughly $4 less than the parking will cost, and the lost time here at the home office will cost me at least $2 - maybe $3.

Anyway, don't even think about marking me absent or tardy.
You have been warned.

Lettuce try again, since the server is dying.

Wear a tie and "dressy" clothes. Defense lawyers in particular HATE a male wearing even a shirt and tie, much less a coat and tie.

DON'T wear blue jeans and casual clothes, even if a female, because you are IMMEDIATELY targetted as an "easy mark" and soft sell....though (perhaps) the prosecuter will will void you out.

My last jury summons: the prosecutors tuned EVERY minority in the pool until they ran out of "eliminates"; and the defense turned down EVERY while male until HTEY ran out of "eliminates."

Casually dressed white females (and minority/union males) were accepted every time, no rejects at all.

If that doesn't work, ask the judge why there isn't an American Flag in the courtroom. Most courtrooms have an admiralty flag with gold fringe. According to Title 4 1(1)USC the official US Flag doesn't have a gold fringe. Make sure you have a copy of the law or you could be cited for contempt for that one.

why won't they call me? i am dying to be called.

the only calls i am not irritated with in the evening, are the ones soliciting my opinion on political issues. i had one last night, asking my opinion on potential senatoral candidates for VA. the guy called back a second time to get my first name, both times xsbrownie answered the phone. the phone rang again later and it was the contractor calling about finishing the basement, again xsbrownie answered it and said loudly to me, right into the phone, IT IS THAT SAME GUY AGAIN, THIS IS THE THIRD TIME TONIGHT! i died laughing!
