Posted on 01/31/2003 5:07:21 PM PST by backhoe
At the request of members, I am restarting those "Tales from the Dark UnderBelly Of the Beast"-- the stories and issues that the press and media either ignore, won't even talk about, or will mention once and forevermore claim "it's old news..."
Naturally, some will be stories which interest me, or things I think we all need to be aware of.
I am experimenting with a minor change in presentation- when I can, I will cut to
with a keyword or two and see what kind of links to "mainstream" stories I can find in contrast to what we see here and on other sites.
May I remind you of a couple of points to bear in mind?
Each link usually has many other links within- follow them all to get "the rest of the story."
Don't forget the "open multiple browsers" trick with control-n -- this allows you to hold your place with one, and use the others to follow links, run searches, etc.
Rather than go back and rehash old links, I'll give you links to the original posts here:
-DUBOB 10- the *best of* the Dark Underbelly Series--
-DUBOB 9-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast..... --
DUBOB 8-- still *more* tales from the Underbelly***

-The Dark Underbelly of the Beast- Stories the Media won't Discuss...--
I’m so sorry. Prayers for you and your family.
No, I didn’t see that.
I’m so sorry for the loss of Miss Emily, John.
Look up to the Lord.
He sees you and so does Miss Emily.
May God give surround you with His peace that only He can give.
give and surround you...
Jim, I really appreciate that- there’s just me and the dogs now, except for Emily’s brother.
She was a fine a woman, and person, as I have ever known, and the 26 years we had went all too fast.
Thank you, friends... as I mentioned privately, I’d be honored by a prayer thread ( God knows, I’ve prayed my black little heart out since I found her dead Monday at 2 AM ) but I may not respond much, or at all. I’m having enough trouble keeping up at Free Dominion, and they have a lot fewer people.
Miss Emily and I were married for 26 years, and since we could not have children, we always had animals.
Long ago, she told me what she wanted for a funeral- a High Episcopal Church service— but she never wrote it down, and damn if I can remember enough to do it.
Besides, her brother— her only relative- seemed to be reluctant to do anything like that...
When we get her ashes back, we are going to gather family and friends in our back yard, and inter her with our other animals buried there, including old Taffy, that you read about three years ago.
Say “An order for burial of the dead at Sea” just because I like the words, and later I am going to get two pieces of pressure treated lumber and hand-carve two markers- one for her, one for Taffy.
She was my Heart...
God bless you John.
I understand the high regard and love you had and will always have for your wife.
You take of yourself.
Thank you, Cindy.
Prayers for you and for her soul. May God Bless and keep you during this time.
I greatly appreciate that- thank you.
Oh, backhoe....what a shock — words can not express how sorry I am to hear of your terrible loss.
You are in my prayers.
Backhoe, you and Miss Emily are in my prayers.
I am so very sorry neighbor.
Prayers for you.
Prayers up for you.
Thank you, one and all. I’m still waiting to hear from the funeral home and coroner.
I am sorry for your loss.
Dear, dear John ...my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I’m so very sorry to hear this, my friend. I just can’t imagine the pain and sorrow you are feeling. My heart goes out to you. Please know you have my prayers, both for yourself, and for Miss Emily’s soul - may she rest in peace. I wish there was something more I could say to assuage your grief at this moment, but alas, I know there is not. I’m just so very sorry to hear you are going through this loss of your dearly beloved. My heart breaks for you...
I’m sending prayers upwards, and warm thoughts and love your way...
With my deepest sympathy,
Thank you. I sure thought we’d have more of the future, together.
