Just came across screen that the Dixie Chicks concert at Gund arena is cancelled. Amazing isn't it that they cancelled one hour before curtain? What do you think?

Why?

I do not know much about Country Music, but I read a lot.

Did something happen, protesters?

It now says details on 11 o"clock news.

Something extra interesting is that on the radio today I heard this announcement: " Due to a stage configuration change, there are now seats available for tonights Dixie Chicks concert at the Gund Arena"

A credible terrorist threat against the concert, maybe. Or maybe an accident. Or maybe sales so dismal they were ashamed to go on? Even though I don't like em, I hope it wasn't a threat or accident. Bad attendance sort of appeals to me though.

From the Gund Arena website:

Due to the illness of one of the girls and doctor's orders, tonight's Dixie Chicks concert has been re-scheduled for June 11th.

The girls want to express their deepest apologies.

Tickets for the June 1st performance will be valid for the June 11th date.

. . .and open seating now available. . .

Well hope it is their ticket sales. . .or lack thereof that has this cancelled.

They so deserve it.

"If you'll be my Dixie Chicken,
I'll be your Tennessee Lamb
And we can walk together
Down in Dixie land"

The only thing I want to hear that mentions "Dixie" and "Chick" at the same time is Little Feat singing this song.

There is nothing unusual about that at all. Most arenas save more seats around the stage then they think they'll need for all the equipment.

After the stage is set up (usually within 48 hours of the show) they release those seats for sale. The good news is, they're close to the stage. The bad news is there's a bunch of stage equipment in front of you.

Good Lord. Haven't these three femi-morons lost enough of their fan base?! To cancel one hour before the Big-Shoo is a monumental act of unprofessionalism. Someone had better be really really sick. That qualifier given, the source of this cancellation will be Natalie Maines, who is really really sick....

cheers to Terry

Amen to that. When Terry was in his groove he was topped by only Hendrix and Stevie Ray. And I liked his voice better than his guitar playing.

Oh sure, for this they apolgize!

Put together with other things, you have to wonder if the real reason is that they didn't sell enough tickets.

The moderator pulled the threads because of me. I spoke some words that I was not allowed, by contract. I had an ego trip, was bragging and proud. I should not have.

Don't blame the moderator. It was me.

This isn't very nice. Just because she can't keep her stupid blow-hole shut doesn't mean people have the right to harpoon her.
