Evening all

Corin; geneology can be fascinating; luckily my uncle did it up a dozen or so years back; reading through it connects on so many levels, leaving the old country, settling, moving on, raising families, somehow always finding the strength and will to keep going on. just average Americans.

Yeah, one of the most interesting stories in my immediate family involves my grandmother. She was sick with the flu (this is at the tail end of the Spanish Flu epidemic). She lost a 4-year-old son on Saturday, delivered my uncle on Wednesday and lost a 2-year-old son on the next Saturday.

Oh, Rosie, I hope that turned out ok... it's such a bummer to lose something you've sweated over!

I have a feeling it's gone. I just finished typing it back up as best I can remember...now I just have about 2200 words to go.

I think this is gonna call for caffeine. Maybe better go grab some tea or coffee...

I had 4th, again!

Ooh, I wrote a bit with action instead of cheesy romance! Yay!

Jen; disease carried away many families entirely, others had a few survivors, old cemeteries and family plots can often tell the tale, more graphically than the printed word; at some periods of time tombstones and markers for young children were more numerous than those of adults, and not all that long ago.

I gave my wife a shirt to wash last night, with a chocolate chip cookie in the pocket.

That's better than discovering a crayon that then went through the DRYER, too!!

My Dad was the youngest of nine. 7 lived to adulthood. The next to the last was the aunt who died a couple of weeks ago.

My characters have been babbling for an awfully long time. But there may be an action bit coming up, or as close to action as I get.

They talk too much.

I read the next bit of your story, by the way! Coming out with another installment soon? I'm curious about the whole Elf side story now...for one thing. And wondering if Hal is gonna stop being a stick-in-the-mud and follow his dreams. And, hopefully, find someone else. ;-)

I know it was common; I just can't imagine it myself. I've seen what losing a child does to parents, and the idea of losing two in a single week like that is really frightening...

Here's a thought! Do you have a statue of St. Jude? Someone told me once to bury it in the backyard upside down! Have you EVER heard of anything like that? I just prayed a Novena to the Holy Spirit (or you could do St. Jude, if you like) and our house was sold within a week, the second week of December!

I typically drink a lot of water every day. I will need to cut my intake for that day

Or you could time your potty breaks for the Galadriel Halloween scene in Fellowship and the Arwen Dream sequence in TTT. You're on your own for RoTK, I fear!

That would just let you post MORE. It sounded as if your intention was for LESS.

I would have thought by now that you'd have learned NOT to try to second guess wimmin!

Am I still in contention for one of the big bowl threads?

You're a solid #3, and making a move on second place!
