Abe Lincoln Black Republican Caucus Letter of Endorsement Will Be Delivered to the Republican National Committee Headquarters at 11:30 a.m. Today, Wednesday, September 22
The ALBRC was co-founded by Don Sneed, a member of the Log Cabin Republicans, to address the political issues and needs of young Black gay Republicans, who he says: "Our voices are never heard, yet we exist and are growing in numbers." The endorsement was fueled by the Log Cabin Republicans' refusal to endorse President Bush. "We think that the 'Republican Tent' is inclusive and there is room for differences, but one does not pick up their marbles and go home if there are a few points of disagreement," stated Anthony Falls, Republican Precinct Chairman -- Dallas and the ALBRC National Spokesperson. "The ALBRC does not support marriage for gays, yet we do support and call for recognition of domestic partnerships," he stated.
"Although we are small, have meager resources and are not as widely known as our counterparts in the Log Cabin Republicans, we do exist, we have families and friends who listen to our voting recommendations and we have the capacity to get our message up and out through the worldwide webcasting of our community television show: the 'ALBRC Community Informer,'" stated Don Sneed, who is also a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (a Bush Appointee). "With this election as close as it is, especially in the battleground states, any movement of the Black vote towards President Bush, could make a significant difference," stated Sneed. "We are determined to use whatever resources we have to get the word out, especially to Black voters of why a vote for Bush is a vote for economic, social and political self- upliftment."
The "ALBRC LETTER OF ENDORSEMENT" will be delivered to the Republican National Committee Headquarters at 11:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, September 22 by Mr. Sneed, who is also an AIDS Community Activist in attendance at the "Breakfast of Champions" being sponsored by AIDS ACTION of Washington DC.

Well... That's 2 votes we can count on!
Well, now I'll be able to get sleep again.
This should just about lock it up for us!
Do they meet in a shoe box?
I'm still waiting to hear what the Black Gay Diabetic Dwarf Republicans have to say.
Ohmigawd! Both of them?????
Yeah! At least these guys had enough sense to tell the other guys to get bent.
(Wait a sec...)
Is the name "log cabin" supposed to be some vague homo reference?
I wouldn't know. And I reeeeeealy don't won't to look it up! ;-)
Any word on where the Mongolian Gays stand?
won't=want
Hey, votes for Bush can come in all colors, shapes and sizes as far as I am concerned.
Breaking: Lesbian disabled black gay Republicans break with disabled black gay Republicans, and endorse George Bush.
Breaking: Senior citizen lesbian disabled black gay Republicans break with lesbian disabled black gay Republicans, and endorse Howard Stassen.
Nothing vague about it. They have been calling themselves that for a long time.
Geraldine was quoted as saying, "The Devil made me do it!"
Ok, they aren't a big group, w/o a lot of clout, but, being Republicans, they probably have jobs, so they aren't looking to take any money out of my pocket. And, they're committed to talking to friends and family about voting for Bush.
Fine by me.
I don't know why this announcement makes me smile, tho. : )
Usually outside the only fern bar in Ulan Bator.
Hey if this can help Bush get more of the Black vote I say why not. I don't think the RNC will turn down this endorsement.
I actually see this as a good thing. If they can deliver more of the Black vote to Bush - It will kill Kerry!
No shoe box, just a very, very, very small closet.
No, but the set of Siamese twin gay rep/dem are having a tremendous battle among himself/themselves on who to vote for.
I love it !!!! Priceless !!!! :-)
Thank God we have someone gay and black to vote for President Bush.
I think we got our diversity vote.
NEXT!
Hehe!
I thought they were a myth, like the unicorn, or the woman who likes football.
I'm sorry that name's hard to take /sarcasm (barf)
How 'bout the Black Snake Swallowers?
Maybe the Oboe Wood Playaz? (that way they can "stick" with the "log" theme, LOL

XXXX BREAKING: REPUBLICAN WORLD-WAR I TRANSGENDERED DYSLECSIC AMPUTEE VETERANS ENDORSE BUSH!!! XXXX
I agree! While people on here, seem to want to joke about this, just remember this is a public board. Let's try to maintain our civility. :)
Circus tent.
Just who with Log Cabin Repubicans vote for if not for Bush.
They are not voting for Kerry. They might vote for Nader!
Seriously, how many people does this group possibly represent? I never heard of them before.
I know one who isn't in the group. so does that make 4 votes ?
they need to recuit better

"Log Cabin" is a reference to the log cabin in which Abraham Lincoln was raised. There is a popular myth that has been circulating for decades that Lincoln was a closet homosexual. Abe, of course, was a Republican. Ergo, Log Cabin Republicans.
What a relief.
Are these Black Log Republicans? Ewww.
Thanks for quenching my curiosity.
Are there really any gay blacks. Even HBOs "Six Feet Under" has the black cop protrayed as a bisexual.
Now that's an interesting combination!
Good to see. It's a brave stand they're taking and it might make some liberals think twice about why a group of both minority, gay members would support the GOP.
ditto
DUers are tearing them apart just like we are doing on this thread. They also think the Log Cabin Republicans are a joke too. It wont' change their way of thinking one bit!

I have a tendency to swing libertarian, so I say a vote that is made for the right reasons is always welcome. These men seem to genuinely care about other issues than just their sexual orientation, and that means that I will judge their vote based on that information.
They have explained it in an appropriate manner - they believe that a vote for Bush is the best vote for America.
That was my thought! Only 10% of Blacks vote Republican, maybe 2% or so of people of any race are gay, and maybe 10% of gays vote GOP, so that's what, 2 people?
A lot of you guys are making fun of this group and their announcement, but I give them full credit and applaud them.
They did not take a stance that was reflexively easy and popular, especially given the whiteboys Log Cabiners jumped ship.
This group could just have melted into the woodwork, gone along with the bigger group and not be heard from. Instead, they go ahead and break with the big guys and stand firm in support of Pres Bush.
So why are all you yahoos jumping on THEIR CASE???
They are just as entitled to proclaim their allegiance to President Bush as you are.
Congrats guys.
I agree with you on this. This is a good thing.
I agree. Take the vote. Keep the ridicule to yourself. Just as democrats should be more concerned about WWIV than after school programs and universal health care, I think Republicans should be more concerned about winning the election and WWIV than what someone does in their bedroom.
It seems to me a lot of things that used to seem important lost a lot of importance after 9/11. Not advocating we give up the culture war, but it's not at the top of my list anymore. IMHO
