I expect that the management of a restaurant may also discriminate based on politics, all things being equal.

But democrats tell us that Republicans are all dangerous evangelical Christian fanatics. At least that's what I keep hearing from the left. This "fact" alone brings the restaurant's actions under scrutiny of the Civil Rights Act.

Oh, wait, I forgot that conservatives can't be discriminated against. Just ask the ACLU.

The 1964 Civil Rights Act banned discrimination based on membership in five protected classes: race, religion, color, ethnic origin, and sex.

At least as it applies to employment law, there is no bar to discrimination based on politics.

As I speculated, it could be interpreted as discrimination based upon religion since they believe we're all religious idiots.

It's a privately owned restuarant, and they are refusing to served individuals for political reasons. They have that right, just as we have the right to encourage everyone we know not to eat there. If they wanna be dicks, let 'em. It's just one more example of liberal tolerance and acceptance of diversity, anyhow...

Just as it is illegal for a privately owned restuarant to discrimination against African Americans who wish to eat there, so also it is against the law for a privately owned restuarant to discriminate based upon the religion of patrons. Given the way in which the Dems have painted all conservatives as religious idiots, one could make an argument on the religious grounds.

In this case, however, it was based tightly upon who these girls were. The action of the management, and the patrons there, was the height of incivility; they reflect their counterparts at DUmmy land.

People think it makes fun of the war on terror, but it really doesn`t. It makes the fighters against terror out to be heros. What is does instead is bash the living hell out of Broadway liberals, Hollywood liberals and the French. The first 20 minutes of that movie I was laughing so hard I could hardly see the screen, especially the one part of "Gary Johnson; Broadway actor". Any movie that ticks off Sean Penn is the greatest movie ever made in my book, and I`m sure it was no coincidence it was released right before the election.

Probably not, because "First Daughters" aren't a protected class.

Sure they are ... on religious grounds (i.e., "Evangelical Christian). But ...then ... the twins are not, exactly, "in good standing" with that religious expression ... so ... oh well. I wouldn't want to eat there, anyway, but I do wonder what would happen if i were to show up dressed in clerics and, after being seated (assuming I was seated) I did or said something to indicate that I had voted for Bush. (hehe)

I just got off the phone with their manager.. "I've heard the rumor, and it is total BS. It's someones pipe-dream Carlo, I swear it never happened".
