What are we paying for our beer today? The price per-case just keeps rising it seems like everything else. Is there a "price of beer" site like the on for gasoline?
Any info on this topic would be great, and save me some money down the road.
If there's not, there should be. It's at least as important.
For mass-produced domestic beers in aluminum cans that appears to be the case.
When I drink that type of beer (usually on hot summer days) I drink Coors. In the winter I prefer the something darker and heavier. .....like some of the ales brewed up here in the Northwest.
They still making Hamms(?) up there? And that other brew, Olympia?
I haven't seen Olympia in a while, but I heard it's still around. Not a bad beer, from what I remember.
Ever had a Redhook?
On the other hand, I don't see beer going up in price here in Seattle.
You're right about Hamm's it's from MN. I think I had it when I was in WA and just associated it with WA. I remember Oly kinda tasting like Coors a bit. It's the water west of the Mississippi. :)
Not sure about Redhook. I think I've seen it here in MA, but don't recall trying it. I'm a simple beer drinker. I splurdge during the summer when I'm sailing with either Red Stripe or Corona.
Invade Germany! No blood for beer!
Stay Safe !........hiccup !
Never had a Redhook, though I see it all of the time. Recommended?
Having a couple of pints of Arrogant Bastard Ale (Stone Brewing Co., San Marcos outside San Diego), and it's BIG hops all the way. Not a hops guy personally, but this is good shi...uh, stuff. :-)
Yeah, all Redhooks are good, but get the ESB (Extra Special Bitter) if you find it. .....especially if you see it on tap anywhere.
Whoa! If there's any liquid substance worthy of the spilling of blood, it's beer.
All right...bach away from the widgets...
LOL........Merry New Year Bro !
You to, bro. Keep the bangs downrange.
I love ESBs, and finding a good one in the States is a goldmine. It's like finding a good porter, IMO, though porters are probably even a little easier to find. I'll have to pick up some Redhook (ESB is the only one I remember seeing here locally) next time I'm out. :-) Thanks!
I'm a lager fan, and in the NJ/PA area, it's hard to beat Yuengling. $5.29/sixpack at the corner store. Any of you guys ever tried it?
The Apple Jack I made over Thanksgiving is mellowing nicely. Another month and it should be nice and smooth.
The mead I bottled last year is nearly gone. I don't know what's happening to it. It just seems to evaporate or something. Maybe it's space aliens coming into the house late at night, or they're sucking it into wormholes or something.
It doesn't help that I let a few close friends try it. Now every time they come over it's "Hey, got any more of that mead stuff left?" I should probably lie and say 'no' but it's just too darn good.
Any excuse to pop the cork is alright with me!
Gotta be careful with it though. The ABV is around 14% so it does pack a bit of a punch.
