"Didn't God say not to eat of certain animals? I hope you are obeying."

He only said that to Israel and for the specific purpose of separating Israel from the rest of the world and keeping them separate. As a gentile Christian I can dine uninhibited with Thanksgiving.

He may have given these instruction to Israel but you analogy is sort of like saying that because your mother said to your sister that she should wash her hands, it does not apply to you.

Obviously, it says if you don't obey you are abominable, are you abominable? 43: Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. 44: For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 45: For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. 46: This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: 47: To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
