Well, they aren't going to put the person who left their money there in jail. They're going to put the thief in jail.

They're not going to put the investors in jail either.

Removing personal responsibility from natalee is just like removing it from joran. It wouold bve wrong to do either.
------

My problem with your position is that you are assigning responsibility to Natalee that is unreasonable. You expect her to be as wise as you, yet she never had the years to become as wise as you. You weren't born as wise as you are now and I'm sure it took years and years to get where you are now. And I'll bet you are still learning wisdom.

Maybe you would see it a bit differently if you took her age and her background into consideration.

And please don't give me your 'four year olds stranger danger' comparison again. It is no comparison, unless you think your four year old is ready to vacation without parents. Otherwise, your comparison is useless.

Oops, I misstated. Straw man is where you ignore somebody's argument because you don't like what they are saying and you restate it in a way that is easier for you to refute. Sort of like Beth saying VDS admitted to raping Natalee.

What I meant to refer to was ad hominem.

Who said anything about jail for the investor or the one that left money on the bar? That shows even more clearly that you mix unlike objects to muddy the water.

Poor attempt at spin.

A woman is beaten by her husband for fifteen years, she doesn't go to jail when the husband finally does cuz the neighbors report him, but she still holds personal responsibility for staying there for 15 years.

IF you make the choice to leave your money on the bar and you go to the bathroom upon your return if it is gone, do you not hold some personal responsibility for the choice you made to leave it there?
------

We've already danced this dance.
The answer was...you would be stupid to leave your money unattended on the bar, but you probably would not do that unless you were incapacitated.

How many times are you going to try to float this holey boat?

I would agree that saying she was in and out during sex CAN be rape but it also can not be rape. more information is needed to make such a determination. Natalees mom should not have jumped so far out ahead if this is all the information she has.

Lots of people leave a bar, drunk to the point of bedspins and bits of passing out and coming too....they do not cry rape, instead they call it fun.

"How many times are you going to try to float this holey boat?"
It aint a holey boat at all, in fact you made my case FOR ME with this comment:

"you would be stupid to leave your money unattended on the bar,"

OF COURSE you would be stupid to do that.IT'S A PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY THING!!!!!!! That is what MAKES IT STUPID.

As for probably wouldn't unless incapacitated......people do stupid things straight sober Everyday.

If she was afraid why would she be associating with them? Why would she dance with joran?
I don't see where that comes from....her being afraid I mean.

Ok, That was another example of a situation where someone holds personal responsibility but would not go to jail.

It was her choice to be there where she could be beaten.
She is responsible for that choice and that action.

Right? Fear would not release that from her. It is simply an excuse as to why she did it. Being afraid can very well be true, she would then hold the responsibility of allowing fear to guide her choices.

(Sorry i misunderstood ya there)

Maybe she jsut needed to make a better choice observing the fact that her choices are her own to make and noone else is responsible for them but her.

I think maybe she was brainwashed into thinking she had no avenue of escape from this predator of a husband.

One chooses to allow themselves to be brainwashed, For that they hold personal responsibility.
