And a whole lot of us who are thrilled that Samuel Alito is now the SC nominee were highly offended by the foul rhetoric posted against Harriet Miers at the time of her nomination.

We didn't 'lose.' But the conservative cause lost big time because of the vitriol of extremists against Ms Miers.

Now how about a story in People about a young man who didn't get his girlfriend pregnant because they did not have pre-marital sex, they both graduate from high school, go on to college, graduate, establish careers, get married, and have children. What would be wrong with that?

But we don't go around bragging about our sins in national magazines. We are ashamed of our sins. Our sins often have hurt our families and friends. We feel guilt. We know what we did was wrong. I still get the feeling if this was a story about a white kid, it wouldn't be a story. For that I feel very bad.
