I am a Bush bot, I guess. But, I hope they go ahead and get that 2/3 vote necessary to override the veto.

Not a surprise. Bush is digging in to fight the cowardly cover their ass politicians and the MSM trying to turn the deal into something that it's not.

Well, I used to think that the main difference between Democrats and Republicans was the parts of the Constitution they chose to bang upon.

But I think we can also now say that they are also differentiated by what foreign interests they wish to sell us out to.

...Apparently, there is more to this than meets the eye....

There usually is.

Unfortunately, the lamestream press will jump on this with 4 hoofs.

At least it will get the Cheney bashing off the front pages.

That would be his first veto ever, if I'm not mistaken. But not the last... wait until the clemency for illegals bill comes through...

President Bush says the deal allowing an Arab company to take over six major U.S. seaports should go forward and he will veto any bill that would stop it.

The Bush Administration is simply the Clinton Administration with slightly cleaner rugs.

Would this be his first veto ever? I don't understand why he wants to drive away a large percentage of his base with this decision.

"Geez, why does he have such a woody about this?"

Let me guess... do you remember the hand holding with the Saudi prince?

The press and the dems will eat him alive for this one.

Too much french kissing with that Saudi Sheik

And walking along holding hands, and placing a koran in the whitehouse, even though the koran says kill all infidels.

Good! The company that has the contract now is not American either and the company that has won this contract already has multi contracts around the world in port management. And NASA buys its rocket fuel from a French company so what is the big deal. A lot of spineless idiots are raising hell about something that is not a problem.. The problem is the leaking of classified information to the enemy and the idiots in the congress who want to stop the foreign listening program.

At least it is not like WW II and the mafia or the Communist are not in charge of the ports.
